Dvalishvili is the underdog? That's insane. Umar at -350 is bizarre.

+260 is quite a wide gap. Especially considering Merab's strength of schedule.

Umar at -350 is unbelievable. Umar is a decision fighter and there's no one on the UFC roster who handles 5 round fights better than Merab.

Is there an injury that the bookies know about here?
Is the Nurmagomedov name making people irrational?

Makes no sense to me.

It is a little crazy. The odds are right around the same as they were for his fight vs Sandhagen.

I can’t recall a challenger this big of a favorite ever. I remember Islam was around -175vs Olivera. But Umar at -350 ive never seen before.

I recall people complaining Umar didn’t deserve the fight vs Corey because he didn’t beat anyone. Then Vegas made him -350 favorite and Then he 50-45 Sandhagen. Vegas knows what’s up. They don’t obsess about rankings like sherbros.

Weili was a -400 favorite against Carla Esparza which is crazy if you compare it to this fight.

Weili vs Carla was a Chad Mendes vs Cody Mckenzie level mismatch, yet Umar isn't that far away from that line

That's right Fremi, It's kind of insane that they think Umar is THAT much better because of his win against sandhagen.

1) Umar is good enough on the ground not to be dominated by Merab, which means that it could be decided on the feet, where Umar is clearly superior, and not only that, he's deadly.

2) His performance vs. Sandhagen, who was # 3 at the time, was total domination, winning every round. Sean won two rounds on two scorecards vs. Merab.

3) Umar is undefeated and is a Nurmagomedov. Counts for a bit anyway.

Not saying that I agree with the oddsmakers....it's a Pick 'Em for me.

I bet 4 out of 5 people on this site are picking Umar, idk haven’t seen a poll

Hell, I'm picking Umar yet I even bet on Merab at +275. I'm wrong all the time on my picks so here's to hoping I'm wrong on this one. Only $60 but +275 on a champion who's been as dominant as Merab as a fighter looked way too sweet to just let slip by.

I think the odds are too wide aswell.

Sports betters and odds makers generally will lean heavy on undefeated fighters. I mean it makes sense, put your money on them until they lose it's a safe bet. I think Umar is being favored a bit too much because of his last name, and also that fight with Sandhagen. But if you go back and watch that fight, Cory wasn't really pushing the pace all thay hard. That fight to me doesn't really mean anything when I try and predict how this one will go. I think if Merab really attacks and makes him grapple alot that he could tire him out and take over.

But what do I know

Makes perfect sense to me, styles make fights. Umar with his wrestling base is not good for Merab.
