Media Dricus Du Plessis Says Robert Whittaker is More Deserving of a Title Shot Than Sean Strickland.

I love Whitaker but didn’t he get hurt by a stiff jab in the last fight? Much prefer the Strickland rematch, but to be fair Khamzat / Whitaker should be a title shot match.

I don't think it's that subjective. A better 3 fight win streak after dominant loss > a 1 fight win streak after a close loss, especially when that 1 win is against a guy that Rob just beat before strickland did.

The huge leap in logic that is required to justify Rob is more deserving of a title shot than Sean is only making DDP look like he is ducking and his fans with keyboards are not helping his argument. Look, I don't think Sean wins the rematch but it needs to happen so lets get it over with so nobody has to deal with SEan getting a title shot again. DDP seems very smart so its weird he is dismissing Sean's talent like he was able to figure him out. He has no problem talking about Izzy talent. Both Sean and DDP are a massive problem for the division and I am huge fan of both btw.

True but I believe they will fight each other on UFC 310 which is the last PPV card of the year in December.


Dricus didn´t take alot of damage against izzy just couple of kicks here and there and will be fresh in 3 weeks to train again. I am 80% certain Dricus vs Strickland will headline UFC 310.

I think Dricus is gonna get the finish this time inside 2 rounds. He has changed alot of his game and has grown as a fighter since he became champion and will be completely different fight to the last one.

He ran Whittaker the F over just a couple of fights ago, and looked like he had been ran over after a highly competitive 25 minute split decision win with Sean.

I'd want the guy I beat easily over the guy who was super competitive with me as well. I'm betting it took a while for him to heal after that Strickland fight. His face was a mess.

Whittaker wasn't healthy for that fight and never should have taken it. A rematch would look very different

Whittaker's last three fights if he wins in october:
Aliskerov (unranked) who had about 1 week to prepare
Costa
#11 ranked Khamzat

Strickland last 3 fights:
Costa
DDP - this could've gone either way and probably should've been a draw
Adesanya

Not to mention Whittaker has already fought DDP and couldn't last two rounds.

Anybody who says Whittaker deserves it more than Strickland is a Whittaker or DDP fanboy
 
We've already seen Whittaker v DDP and it wasn't competitive. He needs to face Sean again. Whittaker v Khamzat winner has got next after that.

I don't think anyone enjoys fighting Strickland. Guy probably has the most frustrating style in the world. Unless you somehow knock him out like Pereira, he will always make his opponents look like crap, win or lose.
 
If Rob KO’s Chimmy in spectacular fashion, I’d be OK with it
I’d kind of rather see that rematch fight anyways, even if it doesn't last long again

Beating Costa shouldn’t really gain you a TS, but this new age UFC earning Title shots is a non factor it seems
I’d,rather see DeSean win one more time before TS

In the end, it’s whatever, and I’ll watch whatever fight goes down
And I’ll be rooting for Kang Dricus
