Donald Trump's 10 Point Immigration Plan

Never gonna happen. Also surprised that the "Obama wants to take our guns" conspiracy crew in the war room don't realize that border walls don't just keep illegals out, it keeps you in . . . so when the gov't turns on you it will be impossible to escape.

Yay! More tax dollars spent on jails and prisons! Too bad the privatized prison system is coming to an end. Or would Trump reverse that too?

No problem here.

Oh so the party that is so anti-big gov't wants to step in and tell cities how to run themselves? Some more Repub hyprocrisy.

Of course he would.

American's go into the ME and destabilize countries, then want to block immigrants from the countries they destabilized. Morally reprehensible.

Good luck with that.

Start scanning immigrants and claim its for American safety. Next will be scanning citizens. What's next, making everyong get identifiying tattoos?

Wonder how many of Trump's billionaire buddies made money on employing and under paying illegal immigrants. The "most american sector of all - farmers" employ more illegals than anything else. As do thousands of other small businesses like construction companies. How about more heavily fining and going after businesses that employ illegals?

I thought numbers were already in line with historical norms.

Basically a bunch of fluff with no substance.

Is this a serious post?

You e bought into the narrative that Immigrants are only doing jobs that Americans don't want or are too proud and lazy to do!

More like these jobs are outsourced to immigrants that will do the same job for a fraction of the price and house 10 Eastern European males in a 2 bedroom house.

I'm not against immigration, but when immigration starts to affect the quality of life of those native to the country in a negative way. Questions need to be f**king asked.
It's not a narrative, it's the data. Sure, there is some portion of jobs that would or could be done by Americans (food service for example), but they're not attractive and are low paying. For the most part though they actually do jobs that Americans don't want to do.

I'll forget that you made the claim that I based my view on a narrative if you take the time to look at the data.

You start making those jobs available while tightening the social safety net and I bet you Americans will be doing all of those jobs and making more money doing it. If I'm a low ambition, low skilled American who is perfectly fine living in low income conditions as long as the government provides the basics for me then I may not want to do those jobs either. But if I actually need money then I'm going to do whatever I have to.

The jobs are available, so I don't know what you mean by that, and most people on the social safety net are old, disabled or are children. Many of the working age recipients are actually working because their wages are so low need assistance, precisely because they are working the types of jobs YOU want them to have.

If you take a MW job and work full time you gross about $16k a year (assuming $8 MW). That's really hard to live in.

In other words you idea is stupid and quite cruel actually. All it would do is hurt poor people and not even solve the problem you think it would.

Looks like he's operating under the assumption that unemployment is not a problem of people who can't find jobs as much as a problem that people of people who can't fill jobs. It's a testament to how strong he thinks the recovery has been, I guess, and it would be nice, but, alas, his theory is not consistent with the data. If he were correct, we'd see fast-rising wages (because employers would start paying more to fill the jobs that are not getting applicants and would be very concerned about retaining employees they have), more job shifting, and rising prices (as merchants are getting more demand for their wares than they can supply). There are actually signs that that scenario is starting to happen, but we're not there yet.

ok 2 things

3. Create a deportation task force and focus on criminals in the country illegally.

reminds me of the "war on drugs" un"win"able and a waste of time /resources

and

wasn't it proven that more illegals are LEAVING the US than coming over here?

i mean even Fox news said it

The Pew Research Center found that slightly more than 1 million Mexicans and their families, including American-born children, left the U.S. for Mexico from 2009 to 2014. During the same five years, 870,000 Mexicans came to the U.S., resulting in a net flow to Mexico of 140,000.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/11/20/more-mexicans-leaving-us-than-entering-study-says.html

so whats the Fing point of 99% of all of this?

no one is stealing your jobs ...well just the shitty ones you wouldn't want to do like (day laborer fruit picker etc)

The real question is, how much will Trump charge taxpayers for the right to license the Trump name for display on the wall?

Because cheap labour immigrants have flooded the market. Without 100,000s of immigrants, the wages would increase and people would be forced to do them. Live or die.

You sound like I use to be when I was in university. Your arguments all come straight from a textbook.

Wrong, service industry jobs in food and retail have always been low paying. Same for maintenance jobs and low skilled laborers. All of this true before immigration from Mexico.

Your arguments sound like a college student who smoked too much pot and didn't even pay attention.

Baby booming generation, it was possible for a postman to get a mortgage. This is a fact.

Influx of low skilled workers drive down wages, and push up house prices. Basic supply and demand economics.

I would rather see US armed forces protecting their own border instead of attacking other countries- a fence could help with this so I don't mind the idea.

I don't like the idea of deporting people who are already there if it means breaking up families- meaning that other family members are legally in the country.

I guess I agree with most of it- of course illegals should not receive benefits from the state.

I love the idea of blocking all immigrants form certain countries- except my list would include a lot more than just Syria and Lybia.

Or we had strong unions creating fair wages for the middle class, and unions are disappearing as fast as pensions are.

Also, if it's all low skilled worker's faults, why are the top earners continually outpacing the middle/low income works, and the wage gap is higher than ever? Basic supply/demand economics don't do that. It's the trickle down bullshit that does that.

Oh look, how cute, Donald finally put something semi cohesive together.
