Happened in 2016 as well until the USMCA agreement was signed. My guess it will last until the 2026 renegotiation get expedited. However, Trudy and Co. Ruined any standing we have by letting the dollar fall so hard, allowing productivity fall hard, ensure FDI dries up and balloning the deficit. So, it's going to hurt canada way more now that we don't have the strength we did in 2015

We import 70% of our crude from Canada and Mexico. It's total fanfiction that the US is self sufficient for it's energy needs.

It's all based on an assumption of good trade relations with our neighbors. If the tariffs go through expect to pay more at the pump next week almost immediately. And not a couple pennies, but like 50 cents or more per gallon.

He lead us into recession in 2020 which costed him the last election but Republicans forgot about that and went with him for a third time. There were more competetent candidates in the primaries that they could have selected but the loyalist base in the GOP is too large. If Haley was the nominee, the democrats would have lost even more bigly.

It is also baffling that a lot of Canadians on here seem to adore Trump when he has openly insulted your country and he's been running his mouth about tariffing the shit out of yall.

Anyone with a brain can realize that dumping tariffs everywhere hurts consumers. It isn't a partisan thing, it is a common sense thing but that seems to be rare to find in the MAGA universe.

What you said is false. You live in a fantasy world.

Smith is the only one who has made any progress on this issue and may likely get an Alberta exemption on oil for her efforts, while the Liberals have accomplished exactly nothing except set up a scenario to make things worse than needed.

Nothing a good common sense conservative govt in Canada can't fix but that ass Trudeau won't end the prorouged parliament.
