Elections DOGE is formed

I'd rather someone do that then lie or be so stupid that they think they can cut spending my 2 trillion.

So you'd rather have someone make practically no cuts at all, than someone have the goal of cutting $2 trillion.

Just say you have no problem with overspending with no practical benefit to the public and everyone would respect you more.

You've been ducking, where do we find 2 trillion in spending to cut annually?
The DOGE was just announced yesterday.
Answers to those questions will come in time.

<Wink2>

No one believes the claims of politicians that government spending has increased seven times in 35 years... but oh no, the government needs every dollar they tax, print, and inflate or else it will all collapse.

I bet my account that if anything at all is even proposed no matter how sensible the same people who pretend hitler is recrucifying Jesus every time he farts will make a thread so they can pretend they’re the most offended and a much better democrat than the other offended democrats (who totally aren’t democrats)
Weird bet.

I was just saying that there is no fucking way in hell that government spending will be cut, much less by $2 trillions.

If Trump manages to cut spending during any of the 4 years of his presidency by 2 trillions, ill change my AV to whatever the fuck you want and ill give you an IRL of me saying you were right and I'm retarded.

And 4 years from now, if your retard ass is around here, ill tag this thread and you will simply reply "you were right" and that's it.

Take the bet?

I honestly don't care if you admit you are retarded.

Everybody already knows.

We don't know exactly how much he cut and what the financial statements of Twitter are, since its not a listed company, we do know however that its income dropped sharply since he took over.

Maybe the savings are enough to make it profitable who knows.
allow me to refocus the discussion
in the purview of cutting workforce twitter runs perfectly fine performance-wise and had its workforce sharply cut. meaning it was a success

I think profitability is a red herring considering that it is in large part due to advertisers leaving because of who elon is and his beliefs. I also think it's especially dishonest of you to bring it up when you know that these financials are not public as you yourself have admitted

Twitter is a business, if they lost half of its revenue its not working "perfectly fine" but as i said its not a public company so we can't tell if the lost revenue was compensated by cuts in expenses

and had its workforce sharply cut. meaning it was a success
Ok, but my point of contention was that you said it was an example to Microsoft and Google which isn't true, as Microsot workforce wasn't cut and Google had a small reduction in its workforce (less than 10%) they are also wildly profitable companies with a lot of revenue.

I think a huge chunk of that money is stolen and in black boxes so to speak. Likely we will see a handful of cuts since the budget isn’t decided by the president anyway. I look for this to be a more public festivus with Rand Paul. I’m actually ok with that being all that happens this four years.

performance wise it is working perfectly fine despite the cuts
that should be the metric you are paying attention to, but you are repeatedly bringing up external factors like ad revenue to justify that is was a bad idea or something?

Ok, so president has no say in government spending and yet they are creating a new government agency that has no say in how money is spent, but that's not wasteful at all.

How come? its a fucking business, i run a service small business and if i cut my sales in half ill probably need less than half of my current workforce too give or take.

Microsoft 2024 numbers are back at 2022 levels, and 16k was a just a drop in the bucket of Microsoft's workforce.

Trump just officially started DOGE, the department of government efficiency. It is getting run by Musk and Vivek is in it also. The plan is to cut back on goverment wasteful spending as we are trillions in debt.

A department of government efficiency with two heads?

Off to a great start.

because twitter makes money through ad revenue and that is contingent on large entities who can collectively decide to leave regardless in any degradation in performance
this is the polar opposite from govt who gets paid from mandated taxes and is interested in efficacy

No one is arguing that there's no room for improvement. What people are mostly arguing is that if you want to cut government spending, you should probably start with someone who knows the difference between discretionary and mandatory spending. And that someone who doesn't is likely to cut in the wrong places or be ineffectual.

I'm wondering how long it's going to take MAGA to realize that the government already examines efficiency and waste.

It's called the GAO (Government Accountability Office) and any CPA or government auditor will be familiar with it.

What's Elon gonna do? Perform more audits? Lol.

Now THAT'S what I call government efficiency.

So we are naming it after a meme coin?

Also, watch it turn out Elon had just dumped a bunch more money into doge coin right before this announcement

This isn't even a government agency, it's a deceptively named advisory board.

So they will recommend changes that most of the agencies will just ignore because there's nothing compelling them to comply.

That would be to easy,

Wouldn’t it…
