Twitter is a business, if they lost half of its revenue its not working "perfectly fine" but as i said its not a public company so we can't tell if the lost revenue was compensated by cuts in expenses

and had its workforce sharply cut. meaning it was a success

Ok, but my point of contention was that you said it was an example to Microsoft and Google which isn't true, as Microsot workforce wasn't cut and Google had a small reduction in its workforce (less than 10%) they are also wildly profitable companies with a lot of revenue.

What people are mostly arguing is that if you want to cut government spending, you should probably start with someone who knows the difference between discretionary and mandatory spending. And that someone who doesn't is likely to cut in the wrong places or be ineffectual.
