No because Clownjermain stole the belt originally and was a paper champ
She also creates excitement in a country with 1 billion potential fans. They like her though.
Even GSP and Serra? This is my opinion as well. I don't like instant rematches for dethroned champs unless there is some kind of legitimate controversy from the first fight: a closely-contested and super contentious Split Decision, blatant fouls or bad officiating affecting the course of the fight, etc. I don't care how dominant the champ previously was. They could be a 30-0 P4P GOAT with 12 title defenses for all I care, if they get defeated they go back into the queue to work their way back to their title with the rest of the contenders. Beat a Top 5ish guy or two and earn your strap back, champ. I also don't care how much of a "fluke" the fanbase thinks the outcome was or how it was all based on a lucky shot, bad weight cut, or whatever else. Doesn't matter if the champ beats the challenger nine times out of ten: welcome to the one-in-ten timeline. It shouldn't be necessary to defeat every champ twice right away before you even begin building your own legacy as a titleholder and it fucks over the rest of the contenders in the meantime.
Even GSP and Serra?
Have to admit it was a once ina lifetime punch tho - luckiest guy alive lolYes. Even then. Love GSP, think he's GOAT at 170 and a P4P great... but I do my best to be consistent with this line of thinking. GSP was the better fighter overall, but Serra was the better man on the night and won the fight fair and square. He shouldn't have had to do it twice right away just to make it "count".
O'Malley gets the keys to Dana's castle and that mean favorable matchups. O'Malley fights Chito next because he wants to not because it makes sense. Aljo will move up and Merab and Sandy will never get a ts with Sean as champ.

Just like Rose kicking Zhang

GSP fought twice before getting a second fight with Serra. Can't recall why Serra never fought anyone in the mean time, but GSP earned his next shot
Serra was hurt. He had a back surgery.GSP fought twice before getting a second fight with Serra. Can't recall why Serra never fought anyone in the mean time, but GSP earned his next shot
I thought he dominated cejudo. not sure what everyone else saw i saw 4-1 to sterling with cejudo only winning round 5. but whatevs. No, and he definitely doesn't deserve it. I don't even like immediate rematches for dominant champions, and Aljo was anything but that. He was dominant against one-armed TJ, but that's literally it. His other two title defenses were controversial split-decisions that could have gone either way. Plus, he won the belt by DQ in a fight he was on track to losing.
Why would I be mad? I just don’t think chito is deserving of the next shot. I don’t think aljo is either, it’s gotta be merabAre you mad? Cory is injured. Aljo got planked.
Does aljo take an instant rematch? He promised merab it was his turn after THAT fight is he going to kick his teammate back out?Seems like every time a champ loses they run it back these days
They were touting Sterling as the “ best bw of all time “ and “ dominant champion “
He was talking about moving up- why would volk take that fight now?
He got tko’d- does that factor in?
So does he go to the back of the line or get that rematch?
