Does know one realize this? Kamaru Usman is shaping up to be the GOAT

Both are a product of the welterweight division in it's current state. Colby is a cookie cutter wrestler boxer, but his weakness is he lacks power.
Burns is one of my favourite fighters, but he has always been beatable.

They both beat the same fighters to get their shot from the previous aging generation. Maia ,Woodley and Robbie (with RDA for Colby) are their best wins.
Those guys were great, but they caught them all in the sunset of their careers.

Usman'ss resume won't stack up long term to GSP and the other guys you picked apart at the start of this thread.

Well I'm not saying Usman's there yet, but if he beats Khamzat, his resume will get a huge boost.

Why? Khamzat has beaten the Leech. Jake Matthews has a better resume than him and isn't even ranked.
Khamzat is looking good but unproven. He is impressive, but 2/4 fights have been regional guys. He has a top 20-30 win and a top 10 win for an over ranked Leech.
I think he will get there, but a win now doesn't help Usman.

Khamzat will impress with 1 more fight over a top ranked guy, then Usman will fight him. Probably Leon Edwards or Burns.

Those do not count.
This just means your favourite fighter was fortunate enough to beat the test ….congratulations ……Again you don’t make the criteria …….I’ve watched recent interview were majority of the fighters call Jon the goat ….but damn Royce G thinks his wins don’t count ….that changes everything

So he will just beat people already beaten by Usman who have looked unimpressive since?
Diaz nearly finished leon, Burns has gotten starched multiple times a various weight classes. They are top guys, but not legacy defining wins.
Both will disappear out of the top 5 in their next 5 fights with leon having no recent ranked wins and Bruns beating Woodley and Wonderboy.

I hate to rip apart peoples wins, but the WW division ranking is based off nobody fighting each other. they all fight common opponents and avoided each other to get to their spot.

??? So, they've both won since their loss against Kamaru, yet that means they're bad?

Give me a break.

I struggle to name one guy on GSP's list that are better than those two.

The wins are Woodley and Wonderboy... That's it since. Good Wins, but they had been the top guys in the previous generation.

Yeah I am out on that one. Jorge was around in GSPs era losing split decisions.
GSP was beating champions from other orgs.

With those two wins, his defenses would be full of fighters he already beat.
If he gets past Edwards then it could be another rematch with Gilbert.
Usman has no control over this.

Him rematching some of his opponents is proof that he’s fighting the top guys in his division.

It doesn't matter that he has no control over it. He's still beating fighters he already beat and mostly decisively.

Captain back acne has to contend with people with better wins and bigger accomplishments like wining more than one title, so he has some ways to go.

Usmans strength of schedule? About everyone he’s fought in the past 5 years have been 500 fighters on the obvious decline of their career.

a guy like burns is considered at the top. From beating those same old fighters. Woodley Maia. Wonderboy. Best Gunnar. And that’s the top of the division

If he beats Khamzat. Yes he's goat. I think he retires before then however.

Usman will never be considered a GOAT, because butthurt republican Colby fans (which are the target demographic) will always bring a different excuse to diminish his accomplishments.

First it was the boring style of fighting (fixed), then it was the footstomps (not seen since), the idea of him using EPO (rumour, not proven guilty), and now their on their last card which they will defend for as long as possible: his opponents weren’t that good

Usman is a Trump supporter too.

Depends how you look at it.
Two wins over a very good fighter is worth the same as two wins over two separate less talented fighters in my eyes.
