Most GOAT candidates have problems with their case:

- Losses
- Steroid violations (Jones)
- Weak strength of schedule / fighting cans (Fedor, Jones)
- Not enough title defenses (DC. Khabib)
- Point fighting (GSP)
- Squeaking by with wins / close victories (GSP)
- Rapid decline in career in older age (Silva, Fedor)
- Retired too early (Khabib)

Kamarudeen so far has none of these issues.

If he gets past Khamzat, the division is pretty clear. He could easily string together 4 more defenses.

At that point he's the GOAT, undisputed.

Israel Adesanya was shaping up to be a GOAT, but then he kinda got son'd by a subpar LHW champ, which kind of sullies his case.

Kinda nuts, huh? Kamaru can be the GOAT if he plays his cards right. Weird to think about.

I think the Colby one was alright since Colby is the top contender and their first fight was amazing. The Jorge rematch though…. Yeah that was stupid. Jorge arguably didn’t deserve the first shot, let alone the rematch.

Usman is a great fighter but man he needed to turn down those rematches with Colby and Jorge for other candidates. His record is lacking big time WW name pushers and the division is missing them too. The next best thing is to beat everybody on the roster.

I think this is a fair criticism.

His overall strength of schedule isn't impressive because he had two completely pointless fights with Masvidal and a rematch with Colby that was not earned. Colby to this day still has not fought his own peers in the top 5 of the division.

Beating Leon Edwards in 2022 with both of their current standings and qualities will be a very big win.

If you really don’t understand why the supposed second best WW in the world calling out a LW when he hasn’t beaten any good WW’s from his generation isn’t an indictment of him you must be a Colby fanboy
