Does it upset you that Jon Jones will never be humbled?

Francis would’ve humbled him, Jon knew that and it’s why he waited him out for a safer return fight, then tries to spin it the other way around as manipulators do.

Jones fan here and it’s always funny to read the despondent comments after another victory.

Sherbros have a double standard here because they champion douchey behavior and love people like Conor but they all can’t stand Jones. It’s like Jones lives the life they pretend to live and celebrate but then resent him for it. It’s hilarious

It’s a good to see a great man like Jones continue to conquer the world and makes me believe that good guys do win in the end
nah people hate Conor AND Jones on here as people. including myself. your fanboy colors are showing. Jones is not a good guy.

Francis would’ve humbled him, Jon knew that and it’s why he waited him out for a safer return fight, then tries to spin it the other way around as manipulators do.

Is that why Francis vacated his belt?

You'd think a shot at 8 million would be enough to convince most other fighters, but we all know Francis doesn't want that smoke.

I like Jones and consider him the greatest fighter we've seen. However, with guys like Aspinal, Sergei and Stipe ahead of him, for those that want to see him lose, there is a very good possibility. I personally don't see him leaving the Sergei fight conscious.
He's eaten every strike thrown at him so far with gusto; the two attributes he has that are remarkably to superior to almost every other fighter in history are his fight IQ & his chin... I'm not sure if Pavlovich is that guy, even with Father Time on his side.

Would love to see that fight though, like I would've loved to see Jones vs Ngannou

The Blaydes fight will tell us more, but personally I think Blaydes is the most likely to beat Jones. Aspinall isn't proven enough at this time for me to give him much hope; Stipe is probably gonna get outpointed and is the one Jones will be most motivated for; Pavlovich he'll outgame/outwrestle (unless Pav sparks him, puncher's chance); whereas Blaydes' one big deficiency is his chin & I don't know if Jon has the power to crack it + Blaydes theoretically could negate Jon's wrestling... + I reckon Jon underestimates Curtis, especially if he's got past Stipe.

It could happen. Now that we saw the fight between Jones and Gane, we know that a wrestler is a horrible match up for Bon Gamin. Styles make fight, as we know. But same could happen to Jones in terms of bad match up. If a crazy JJ guy comes in the UFC, someone with at least Reyes' stand-up to neutralize him on his feet, Jones is dead.

Never forget Cain. Guy was an absolute monster, nobody saw him losing. Was going to be the best HW of all time. Then... Werdum happened. Friggin' guy was SMILING when Cain took him down. Rest is history. Same could happen to Jones. He can be all juiced up, won't save him from someone who is just dying for him to take him down.
Yo, I forgot about this guy

Maybe him :D

Probably nobody though, I can see Jones getting 3/4 cleverly managed defences & retiring... If he can evade Father Time and beat Fedor's & Khabib's records without losing he definitely retires

I’m not a Jones fan, at all, but I also don’t really dislike him either. I admire his greatness and genius, but I find him very unappealing as a person and personality.

But I’ve noticed, especially this weekend, how much his haters take his wins personally.

We’ve seen shitty people at the top like Conor get humiliated and it’s happened a bunch in boxing and team sports. But like Floyd Mayweather, Jones will likely never lose a match. Even if he’s slowing down now(we don’t know yet), he’s too smart to put himself in an unfavourable position.

For the haters, does it bother you that you’re never going to see him lose a fight or even get humbled? As a fan of the sport, is it something that will always bother you?
I really wanted Jon to lose. I think that's the most upset I've ever been at someone winning lmao.

I'm not a fan of the guy, but he is captivating. I love to watch his interviews and see how fake he can be. I love his shit eating grin he gives after giving the most politically correct answer.

<JonesLaugh>

KNowing he doesn't believe any of that shit. I do find it hilarious how people like alex volkanovski and company calling him the goat, when he's popped for drugs, but saying islam cheated with an IV.

I find it funny how everyone has selective amnesia and people are all calling him the goat despite PED use.

I personally don't care about PED use, but I wish the fight community, the fighters mostly would be consistent. Is it cheating or is it not?

I would say he was humbled after first Gus fight.
Brutalized and limping and going to hospital.

Not sure why people still use this nonsense. Jones limping off had zero to do with Gus and everything to do with ripping his toe off against Chael a few months prior. If anything, barely training Jones pivoting on one foot still won. Gus spent have a round having stroke symptoms after being elbowed and likely got CTE. Jon showed up the next time around and demolished the guy.

Like seriously, was a reason he had his toe taped against Gane. His self inflicted toe injury is problematic and anytime he leaves a fight not putting weight on it is for prevention. In the Santos fight he was hopping on that foot and doing flying kicks off the bad foot in the 5th round and post fight they immediately had him taking weight off it and he hobbled back stage.

Seems more like he has a smart team around him immediately looking to pre-hab potential issues. As if Gus did anything to his lower body that fight notable. At least Santos made him wince to a leg kick once (the opposite leg he was favoring with the bad foot) but still he ate a good leg kick. Gus glove cut him and jabbed up his eye, he didn’t do any damage at all to the lower body.

Anyways I care more about the fights, outcomes and obvious results than the fighters personalities. I don’t care much about what happens outside the fight itself like some 30-60 year old petulant butthurt children on here making cope posts.

I wanted Shavkat and Gane to win because I like them but Jon keeps proving he’s the man. Whatever works for the fighters works for me. Not everyone can portray some fictional good guy persona, the variance is okay. I don’t expect the best fighters to be Mr. Congeniality. If you want role models you should aim much higher than combat sports. It’s like worshipping rock stars or rappers and being disappointed they’re not perfect grounded individuals, aim higher. At the end of the day mma skews a lower income, less educated demographic for a reason. It’s not the most sophisticated thing out there lower your expectations.

I'm 10-15 years he'll get back on the booze and do something stupid.
If he doesn't then maybe he is reformed?
These misdemeanors will always follow him around though

No, he got himself in trouble multiple times. So he will never feel humbled.

Personally for me, as long as he brings entertainment I dont care for his personal life, its his to destroy or repair.

Lol. Being in front of a judge and dealing with social media in general can be very humbling. No doubt that's why he's able to return to the top of his craft -- he has to deal with demons.

eventually he will. he has outside of the cage for sure. given enough time, he will be embarrassed in the octagon. now? no. next few years? no.

I never wanted a fighter to lose as much as Jones in the DC fights. I hated him so much and thought DC was just a decent human being. Over time though and especially in his abscence I grew to miss his skills, bar him khabib and Anderson silva I don’t think there’s been anyone as dominant since the pride era. I can separate the art from the martial artist.
It doesn’t bother me that he might not get humbled in the cage, he’s been humbled in more embarrassing ways, his woman beating, drug use, cheating etc.

I'll be honest; I think a lot of the hate comes from a mix of 3 or 4 diffrrent things.

1. His (Christian) religious professions. A lot of people who claim to hate religion direct most of their hatred towards Christians and Christianity for some reason. This is really obvious on the forum here. Muslim fighters praying in the cage or mentioning their faith are met with silence from this group, but guys like Jones and Dariush elicit a special kind of venom from these cretins.

2. His nationality. The fact is that the USA is a really, really dominant force in the world of MMA. Historically, most world champs either come from the USA or train in the USA. The US has the best facilities, the best teams and best coaches, by far. Having an American as the undisputed GOAT is just another reminder to these people of American excellence and domination and in a sport that frankly isn't even that popular here. It has to hurt their national pride somewhat and with Jones now outshining Fedor, GSP and Silva in the GOAT talks, it's a truly bitter pill to swallow as they have no point of comfort to fall back on, no other fighter to reminisce about and say "well at least we still have so and so"

3. The fact that he truly is that good. For as many people love to see unstoppable juggernauts and untouchable geniuses do their work, there are about fourfold of that amount of fans who love to see kings fall. The schadenfreud addicts have never gotten their fix from Jones and likely never will. This kills them.

4. Oldschool fans who have never truly moved on from Pride still hate him for dismantling their favorite fighters in such dominant fashion

I am sure there are other reasons but bad behaviour outside of the octagon? Not buying. Most of the people who claim they hate Jones' antics will turn right around and talk about how much they love Rampage, Silva, Connor etc.

Nope that's on him and everyone knows what he's about.

He's eaten every strike great at LHW no doubt. But I do question how he will take a shot at HW vs a bigger puncher like Sergei.

I think they all give him very tough fights. I am all for legacies being built and like to see great fighters accomplish big things. But I don't see Jones getting through 3 of these guys.

Never say never. Father Time is undefeated, and if Jon chooses to fight past his prime he could lose. not sure when that will be, but it could happen. so many of the greats hold on too long.

in terms of his attitude, yeah he needs to humble up. he has been incredibly fortunate to still be in the position he is. no one gets infinite chances.
The problem is that Jon would anally molest your favourite fighter, if they ever fought...
