Social Does anyone know what a millenial or boomer is?

Also, for the record:

I'm an early Millenial(Google "Oregon Trail Generation"). I'm pretty sure the stereotypes about Millenials typically are typically pertaining to late Millenials(i.e., born in the 90's). But even they are pushing 30. So I feel like the distinctions are gradually disappearing.

Just did. You guys are also called Xennials - a cool portmanteau of "X" and millenials.

From one of the articles:

"So if you were born in 1981-1982, for example, you were literally the last graduating class to finish college without social media being part of the experience."
Similarly, I was the last generation to graduate high school without social media and it grew right alongside me while I was in college. I feel more of a cultural bond with older millenials (as a mid-millenial, myself). A lot of younger ones won't remember early 90s movies playing on a tv with with commercial breaks while trying to steady an antenna to get signal.

But yea, I agree that the gap is getting smaller - as is typical when people age. We begin to have more common experiences than not. There are adults who are about to graduate college that weren't around when the twin towers were! Things like "I remember what I was doing when the planes hit" are enough to give us a sense of commonality.

Pardon the morbid example.

You're growin on me sir.
I like that you think for yourself.

When people say ok Boomer they're using it as an insult, telling a genx person they're acting like an old man.

Fair enough.

Also, millennials get blamed because they're the first generation to suck. All generations since then have been whiny and entitled.

I think every generation says that about later generations. Didn't "The Greatest Generation" (those who fought in WWII) look down on the Vietnam War generation (I guess those are "boomers" huh?) We look down on the Gen-Z Tik Tok generation, and they'll soon look down on their offspring talking about "You kids have no taste in music. Listen to this mumble rap!"

If that description doesn't fit you then don't defend millennials. Just be proud of yourself for being the best of a generation.

I should've done a disclaimer. Lol. In spite of my wordy post, I don't really take offense. Hit dogs holler, and I've worked circles around my peers, haven't lived with my mom since before adulthood. So I don't have the spoiled, late-bloomer, crying about hard work, mentality many fellow millenials have.

I'm just complaining about the wrong use of the terms.

Wait a minute... I'm just like them!

You use Tony Parker in a Hornets jersey but not a Spurs?

Why people thought of these bullshit terms.

Nothing wrong with just stating peoples age or birthyear, ffs.

I thought it would be interesting to simply type these into Google Image Search and see what the prevailing results are

Most of the bickering is between Gen-Xers and Gen-Zers. Keep us millenials and Boomers out of it!

I keep seeing these phrases used out of context. Making it seem like there is some sort of cultural war going on against millenials and boomers.

Okay, first off...

- Baby boomers aren't the ones sitting on the internet all day arguing with you. Baby boomers fall in the range of those born between 1946 and 1964. They're the offspring of soldiers who came from World War II, realized how short life is, and started having lots of babies.

Everyone says "okay, Boomer," but do y'all really think there are that many people debating you in nursing homes?

A millenial (A.K.A. "Gen Y") were born between the range of 1981-1996. Affectionately dubbed so because the oldest became adults around the turn of the millenium (the 2000s). We were the "omg, Y2k is gonna end us!" kids and young adults.

This... is a fuckin' ZOOMER. The generation born after millenials...

All of your frustrations about mumble rap, fortnight, no work ethic, etc. should be directed toward them, not us!

Now, this is a millenial:

We have families and mortgages, and not (at least for the most part) doing dumb challenges on Tik-Tok.

I take it most of the people arguing online are between the Generation X-ers who grew up watching Dawson's Creek and tying sweaters around the waist of their overalls like Joey Lawrence... and kids who grew up not knowing what a Smartphone is.

OK Zoomer...

First I thought that millennials are people born around the year 2000 and I see others holding that misconception.
