Social Does anyone know what a millenial or boomer is?

Why people thought of these bullshit terms.

Nothing wrong with just stating peoples age or birthyear, ffs.

Because they are stereotypes. Humans (all of us in one way or another) operate in schemas... that is how we quickly group information.

It pisses me off when someone puts a bullshit fake label on me.

I'm as angry as if someone had insulted my mother.

I hate this so much.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Another entry on the long list of meaningless things that make me want to punch a hole through a wall.

Some idiot called William Shatner a boomer. He’s not a baby boomer either, as he’s 90 years old. The oldest boomers are those born in 1946 like my Dad, as well as Donald Trump, Bill Clinton and George W Bush.

In all fairness William Shatner looks pretty good for 90. Maybe all that space poon kept him young.

I think most people use that term as a internet created stereotype more so then it's actual categorizations. I constantly see millennials calling other young adults millennials. I just miss the cut off by a year.

I thought it would be interesting to simply type these into Google Image Search and see what the prevailing results are

By most definitions, Clooney is a Boomer, and Gosling is a Millenial.

All I know each generation has more dumb people because education is messed up more and more.

Boomers doesn't mean baby boomers. I take it to mean millennials and older, that the new generation thinks of as old. It's meant to trigger us by comparing us to baby boomers. I'd say anyone 35+ probably qualifies.

I like being an xer - we just fly under radar no one really pays us mind in these generational debates. Forgotten.
Damn right. Also the last generation able to easily buy a house in Canada

I take it most of the people arguing online are between the Generation X-ers
We're crafty like that........Throw a hand grenade then leave the room, lol.

I can agree that Millenials get a bad rap. Most of the ones I know are pretty decent. It's the later in the timeline millenials that became hipsters along with zoomers that fucked up the perception of them.

I think all generations finally come of age and adopt some views of the previous ones. Every generation thinks they are gonna be the ones to span the age gap. As cool as I think I am at a soon to be fifty. I know my teen kids still think I'm old as fuck. And I have a bunch of millennial friends on the FD who just love to rant and yell about how the zoomers are screwing everything up, and look at me funny when I tell them I used to think the same thing about them.

In a decade or two, the Zoomer's will be telling the next generation to get off their lawn too.
