You need to get yourself out for proper Italian food. Pasta is only a part of Italian cuisine.
What else is there? I've had pizza and lasagna. Still same ingredients.

this thread reminds me of this scene from no reservations where an american family and a chinese family sitting next to each other in the same restaurant are eating very different things.

I know that there's a massive difference between American Chinese food, and REAL Chinese food. I guess I should have specified.
The difference is immense and like comparing Taco Bell to authentic Mexican cuisine.
Proper good quality fresh Mexican food is outstanding. Latin food in general.
My rule of thumb for Taquerias is to look for Caveza and Lengua on the menu.
I don't personally eat brain or tongue, but it's a great sign that the food is hardcore authentic. I usually go with al pastor, carnitas, or chorizo but you know when you see Caveza and Lengua on the menu it's not gringo food.

Nice! You made the move... How are you liking Seattle so far?
Burger places?
1. Brave Horse. Perhaps the best Burger in the entire world. It's a Tom Douglas spot.
2. Red Mill. A little low rent and outside of downtown proper, but worth the drive.
3. Two Bells. Very low rent... But burgers are known from coast to cost.
Enjoy!
This is hilarious to me, because I've actually had a Chinese waitress become shocked and pleasantly surprised when I (big tall white guy) ordered family style for the table and requested a pan fried live whole fish with ginger / scallions, Chinese greens and bok choy, salty fish fried rice, and a simple soup.
She literally did a double take and then said I ordered like a Chinese person.

Pass. I went on a date to Chinatown here in Seattle and the girl brought me to a Dim Sum place... Her idea as I'd never had it. They brought around Chicken Feet and these little things that had transluscent wrapping that I couldn't identify. Ended up eating a few Saltines, had some tea and got the fuck out of there as soon as I could to grab a Cheeseburger in P-square.
Maybe I just had a bad Dim Sum experience, but I'll probably never know... Not planning on trying it again.
You might want to read my post above. Yep, someday you might not be able to "help it".
