The names are extremely impressive but the reality is very different

- Wins the title with an acting performance that puts Marlon Brando to shame against Yan (which he was losing)
- Defends against Yan via split decision (he probably won but no one likes a split decision)
- Defends against one arm Dillashaw (just lol)
- Defends against 36 year old washed Cejudo via split decision (a crackhead judge gave him the 5h round which he clearly lost, otherwise Cejudo is the #AndNew)

People like you are mind numbingly stupid. Cejudo was not washed. He's one of the best in the world and Aljo beat him fair and square. Same with Yan. What happened with TJ is his fault and no one else's.

Of course he is washed, lmao. He is on the verge of retirement. And if he doesn't retire now, he's going to fight Merab, lose, and then retire. This is not the Cejudo from 4/5 years ago. It's pretty much unheard of to still be on top at the lighter weights at 36. He is objectively not as good as he was. I'd argue he is nowhere near as good. That doesn't mean he totally sucks.

Agree. The DQ was lame, the TJ fight was unfortunate, and the Yan and Henry wins could have been more exciting….

But beating Yan and Henry is obviously a big deal and he strangled Corey right before that. Aljo is excellent.

Lol the revisionist history is real. If cejudo had that close a fight with aljo, he’s clearly not washed. And who the hell cares of the second fight with yan was a judges split when it was pretty clear to anyone thinking objectively that aljo took rounds 1 through 3. Do I think aljo milked the knee a bit? Maybe. But it dosent change that it hit flush and illegally and absolutely would have changed the course of the rest of the first fight for the worst for aljo. It would have erased any fair chance he would have to mount a come back regardless if you thought he was capable or not. Guy is the legit champion, and keeps racking up the W’s.

He hasn’t been impressive. However, he hasn’t needed to be. It’s an unfortunate situation with Aljo. Not to mention he just says some really dumb stuff. But I will remain on the Aljo train for as long as it is chugging. And I hope he destroys O’Malley with so much ease that it is also deemed unimpressive and O’Malley being an undeserving can. One of the reasons Aljo doesn't get enough credit is because ever since the first Yan fight we've dubbed all of his bouts as "this fight will prove if Aljo is real or not" and we expect some definitive finish that will cement the legacy in stone. That moment hasn't happened. It almost did with the TJ fight until we quickly realized just how compromised TJ was and probably should have never been cleared to fight in the first place. Aljo is the fucking man already and he doesn't have to prove shit to anybody but he still hasn't had that signature moment that would elevate him to the next level of stardom.

He'll have a great chance with the O'malley fight. A quick or exciting victory here would make the reign undeniable.
