I don’t think germs and viruses live on metal that long. At least up to a week. If the can’s are in a case not exposed to hands, I don’t think I’d worry too much about it.

i watched a cat piss on a shipment of soda at mom/pop store before. if it can happen once, it can happen again.

if you're not wiping the top of a soda can, just realize there is a chance you're licking cat piss. rodent droppings are also a real possibility.

When I was younger I worked in a warehouse that had lots of cans. I saw all the shit that gets on it...dust, dirt, grime, grease...rat shit, rat piss, roaches, etc. Ever since then I've wiped (and rinsed if possible) every can lid I've ever sipped from, before the first sip.
