The situation is thus,

Humans learn from mistakes, not before them. That's how we've evolved, this is fact.

Technology increases the individual power of people exponentially over time. This is observed fact.

It is a matter of time before those mistakes become big enough that there is no way back. We have exhausted petrochemicals at the surface, if we are brought back to the stone age that's it for us.

Becoming multi planetary is the only solution that has any hope.

We don't do that great a job of learning from mistakes.

To be fair, it was just this particular high school that I used to go. It was my first high school and it was pretty hellish but still no reason to take away all the sport activity. Even though I got bullied badly I still maintain you got to have those programs so kids can channel their rage in these activities. Removing masculine sport doesn't create less assholes. It makes it worse in a different ways/

Fair point and the thing is. The football field and its surrounding is GONE!

Problem is, around the football field, it was the running field. So now they are taking away running. They are creating buildings for arts, think tanks and some social philosophy bullshit.

This is horrible! I mean kids need to be very physical. Now a days the talk is that sports gives you CTE and now there is a shift towards being thinkers, philosophers. Its horrible because you think that with the rise of MMA in the 2000s, kids were going to be in to master martial arts in unique ways. But nope, now martial arts and sports are not considered cool at all. But the worse part is what you said, all this shit is going to make us soft and easy to conquer by an evil empire in China. Depends on responsibility in business, like timelines for heating, so that planet temperature goes down. Ecosystems are already changing because of it though, that'll last. And palm trees in Germany. In some countries estimates of population are going down. In some they're up, so depends on place.

Sadly climate change contributes to overpopulation of some places. People will move. And climate also becomes expensive because of things like cooling systems for apartment houses, in mass.

I don't have a lot of faith in businesses applying long-term practices or just generally willing to lose money for a cause.

While I am glad I'll be dead long before the world truly collapses, a part of me would like to see all the corporations and governments worldwide completely implode.
