See the thing is, Nate JUST got his black belt. It's not like he's had it for years. They don't just hand them out at Cesar Gracie's gym. He's been a nasty black belt level BJJ player for a long ass time without that belt. That's why people who really roll know better than to say Conor is brown belt level in anything. He wouldn't be a blue belt in our gym representing like that.
Do bjj black belts dominate brown belts so easily or is his belt suspect?
TBH, he was made to look like a blue belt...
Bro do u even trane UFC??You armchair youtubejitsu guys should shut up.
Everybody always brings up the Cobrinha matches, but it's not like Cobrinha was the guy we know now. He was an up and comer just like Aldo, and later went on to be far superior in BJJ, while Aldo went to MMA. I get your point about the sandbagging thing, but the key thing you said is "Aldo has forgotten." See, he's still stuck in the 2004 brown belt division, while black belts nowadays are a completely different animal. It's the same problem with BJ; he was truly a prodigy back in the early 2000s, but he'd get decimated nowadays. What worked then doesn't really work now, and Aldo never transitioned his game to MMA like even BJ did in his heyday.Aldo submitted Rubens Charles twice... if you know much about BJJ, you know people sandbag like a motherfucker when it comes to belts. Many times a school won't promote someone because they would get rolled badly in the black belt or brown belt division, but could be world champion at purple belt. So they keep them there.
Aldo has forgotten more about BJJ than McGregor has ever learned.

I suppose it's not really Aldo's fault, considering he was knocking blokes out left and right, but he's really not this amazing BJJ guy that people think when you consider how much has changed in the grappling world over the last 13 years, especially when it comes to MMA grappling.

Nate got punches in the head pretty hard but he still looked like a black beltPunch a black belt in the face hard enough and he becomes a white belt.
Stupid post Rockhold beat Weidman up with GNP not some amazing display of BJJ. Rockhold is proven to be a monster in top.Look what happened to weidman, as soon as he got taken the ground against luke. Mounted and pounded out within seconds and hes supposed to be a mat wizard.
Did you see Diaz take a desperation shot?Nate got punches in the head pretty hard but he still looked like a black belt
