Do You Think Conor Is A Legit BJJ Brown Belt?

I have heard that he's a high purple level/low brown level.

But black belt is basically double the experience of a brown belt
You armchair youtubejitsu guys should shut up.

See the thing is, Nate JUST got his black belt. It's not like he's had it for years. They don't just hand them out at Cesar Gracie's gym. He's been a nasty black belt level BJJ player for a long ass time without that belt. That's why people who really roll know better than to say Conor is brown belt level in anything. He wouldn't be a blue belt in our gym representing like that.

He got it 3 1/2 years ago. But yea, comments at the time that he got it were basically "WTF, he didn't have it yet?"

Do bjj black belts dominate brown belts so easily or is his belt suspect?

TBH, he was made to look like a blue belt...

1. Diaz is a natural at avoiding trouble on ground. Dude hasn't been subbed since he was 20, ten years ago.
2. Diaz has been doing high level BJJ for a lot longer than Conor. Far more experience and training.
3. Diaz is actually bigger than Conor. When you add one and two to that you get last night.

Conor is a legit brown belt.

Yeah, it's legit. He sweeped Diaz in round 1 and escaped a guillotine in round 2. By the time Diaz was on top of him he was a white belt because of the absorbed shots and exhaustion.

Aldo submitted Rubens Charles twice... if you know much about BJJ, you know people sandbag like a motherfucker when it comes to belts. Many times a school won't promote someone because they would get rolled badly in the black belt or brown belt division, but could be world champion at purple belt. So they keep them there.

Aldo has forgotten more about BJJ than McGregor has ever learned.
Everybody always brings up the Cobrinha matches, but it's not like Cobrinha was the guy we know now. He was an up and comer just like Aldo, and later went on to be far superior in BJJ, while Aldo went to MMA. I get your point about the sandbagging thing, but the key thing you said is "Aldo has forgotten." See, he's still stuck in the 2004 brown belt division, while black belts nowadays are a completely different animal. It's the same problem with BJ; he was truly a prodigy back in the early 2000s, but he'd get decimated nowadays. What worked then doesn't really work now, and Aldo never transitioned his game to MMA like even BJ did in his heyday.

I suppose it's not really Aldo's fault, considering he was knocking blokes out left and right, but he's really not this amazing BJJ guy that people think when you consider how much has changed in the grappling world over the last 13 years, especially when it comes to MMA grappling.

You think his BJJ got better or worse in 13 years at Nova Unaio? Be serious dude. A legit blue belt would son that stupid fuck.

He's a brown belt under Anthony Johnson.

Punch a black belt in the face hard enough and he becomes a white belt.

Look what happened to weidman, as soon as he got taken the ground against luke. Mounted and pounded out within seconds and hes supposed to be a mat wizard.
Stupid post Rockhold beat Weidman up with GNP not some amazing display of BJJ. Rockhold is proven to be a monster in top.

If Jim Miller is a blackbelt, yes.

I hope you got the point.

Your belt goes out the window when you are getting punched in the face.
