do you think bellato was faking?

He was trying to get a point deduction after seeing Peña lose a point and seeing the referee get praised widely for doing the right thing (of course Peña landed two solid kicks as opposed to one glancing blow that caught mostly shoulder), and he got carried away. He glanced at the ref, who didn't even call a foul, them he escalated, begging for the point. The difference between a 10-9 and a 10-8 round in a three round fight is huge.

If the Peña/Harrison fight hadn't just happened he probably wouldn't have bothered faking, but scoring a point for the upkick was fresh in mind.
I didn't see the Pena vs Harrison fight. What makes you think Bellato was watching?

Honestly i think whats more shocking to me is that there were a lot of people who were arguing that this was a real knockout, its like they refuse to believe their own eyes or something, this was some of the worst acting ive seen in a long while..
It was blatantly fake. I refuse to believe anyone thinking the guy was KO’d are real human beings. Surprised Dana hasn’t already dropped him

I do think he was faking.

Doesn't surprise me, he's Brazilian. Whether it's PED's, missing weight on purpose, eye gouging, holding onto submissions too long, grabbing the fence,, pulling an Erick Silva where you go for the glove touch only to throw a punch instead, etc....Brazilians are habitual cheaters.

And it's not just their MMA fighters, their soccer players dive and play-act all the time. Neymar? Rivaldo? To quote one of their most famous defenders, Robert Carlos: "It's not cheating if the ref doesn't call it."

My ex brother-in-law was from Chile and he pretty much confirmed that it's South American culture that you not cheating, you're not trying. It's not just a thing, it's cultural. And when I pressed him on it he walked away, he didn't want to talk about it anymore.

Seriously, other than JDS (who was clearly on roids once he left the UFC and BKB'd fellow Brazilian roider Wedrum) and Demian Maia, name one high-profile Brazilian fighter who hasn't tested positive for PED's and/or caught cheating in some other manner? And don't say Jose Aldo, maybe he hasn't tested positive but even Joe Rogan himself has accused him and his camp of juicing.

Bottom line: Brazilians habitually cheat. They like it, they support it, they think if they're not cheating they're not trying. So let me die of not being surprised when a Brazilian fighter faked injury to try and earn a DQ victory.

This is why I found it especially satisfying when they got their ass beat at the World Cup 7-1 in front of their fans. Brazilian athletes will be the first ones to dance around when they score and the first ones to cry when they get stomped.

The minute Germany scored the third goal I was like, damn I'm about to see an entire nation commit ritual suicide.
