International Do you support toppling the Iranian Regime?

Mostly agree with you but there were cases like East Timor, Sierra Leone, Grenada, and Serbia where toppling the regime was the right call and made things better.

Yeah but toppling Iran's old regime led to the Islamic Revolution, toppling Iraq's regime led to the rise of ISIS after a protracted civil war, toppling Cambodia's regime led to the rise of the Khmer Rouge and genocide.

We have a really shitty record at this.

so you're just going to say US policy towards iran has to be tied to policy towards israel? you're ok with iran having nukes?
Has Iran directly attacked Americans on American Soil? Why should we fight them?

And yeah, they are interlocked together. We made peace with the Iranians during the nuclear deal. For some reason, Netanyahu thought it was a good idea to shit all over it and egg Trump out of the deal...

Israel has killed more Americans than Iran ever did.

I mean, Saddam was like the Iraqi Milosevic. He should have been removed after the Persian Gulf War. But going in during 2003 was total bullshit. Bush went there because he had a grudge and progress in Afghanistan was dwindling.

Eitherway, removing him didn’t create ISIS. Many Iraqis were greatful for that fucker to be gone. What created ISIS was Bush Jr. sticking his dick into a beehive and shattering the public sector. Firing all the public workers and disbanding the military left a lot of people angry and disillusioned. It also opened Iraq’s borders to Iranian influence. The bitter Sunnis who lost their jobs in the military and public sector formed ISIS....

if we do something it's automatically israel's fault?

there was no "peace" during the nuclear deal. iran continued to be a menace.

but again, the question is whether the US should care if iran is nuclear and you seem to think the answer is no.

Do I want the Iranian people to no longer be subjected to a brutal autocratic theocracy? Absolutely.

Do I want my tax dollars and/or American blood being spilled to topple the current government*? No.

Our intervention in Iran was a catalyst for the current brutal autocratic theocracy to come into power in the first place.

* If it didn't result in a quagmire like Iraq or Afghanistan, didnt embolden terrorists, didn't result in a corrupt puppet government that did the bidding of corporations, and returned Iran to a more secular nation that was slightly more religiously tolerant than under the Shahs but also cracked down on extremism? I'd still not want U.S. troops on the ground but would be more supportive of other interventions.

Who attacked who here? Who started the hot war?

Israel started a hot war with another country with objectives that they can't meet without American Aid. Iran's nuclear facilities are honeycombed deep in the mountains, only American Bunker busters can finish them.

It would have been nice to have disclosed it first. Witkoff was in talks with the Iranians and now they trust America less as a middle man because we could not restrain Israel from attacking them. So now you are arguing we need to get violently involved for a war that we didn't start?

i didn't argue anything. i'm asking if you are cool with iran having nukes, because they appear to be striving for that and appear to close to that goal.

israel isn't cool with that. are you?

Israel should never allow Iran to get nukes. They have openly stated that they would destroy Israel if given the means to do so. I fully support Israel doing what they need to do.

That being said, Americans don't need to get in the middle of it. Let them fight it out amongst themselves, as they have been doing for 2000 years.
