Movies Do You Still Go To The Movie Theater?

Last movie i saw in theaters was John Wick 3. Honestly with ticket prices and concession prices it was like $100 for 2 people. I usually either download a torrent or just stream it . I have a 75in 4k oled TV and a 5.1 Dolby system so i would rather be at my home relaxed than drive, park, deal with loud people and pay out the ass. I will save my money to go out to eat or just buy something tangible that's kept forever

I only go in discount days which is tuesday it is half off. Ticket prices are ridiculous I was going to watch ballerina today but my theater raised the price to 19 dollars a ticket for their Dbox XD which I think is like the new cinemark XD screen. I will also probably just get this movie on peacock like 2 months later. If I include a beer and food watching ballerina will cost me like 60 dollars.

Yes I love going to the theater. Love the smell, sites, and sounds of the theater. I probably go 6 to 8 times a year. I just dont think you can duplicate the magic of the theater at home.

Also I never had a bad experience at the theater with people talking or being loud.

Rarely

It had been over a decade since I had watched a movie in the big screen until a couple of years ago when I saw The Black Phone.

Before that I think the last movie I had seen at the theatre was Bridesmaids lol

Very rarely see new releases, maybe once a year if that there's just nothing much out that interests me and if there is I don't hear about it. I sometimes go to a cinema near me that plays old films sometimes in their original film print.

Still watch it. Have watched 9 movies this year with Sinners and Thunderbolts* being my favorite films so far.

Looking forward to watching at least 12 more movies for 2025.

What I'm looking forward to next: F1, The Running Man, Avatar 3. Those are the only three that really stand out as possibilities. Oh, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Rocky IV when they come around.

Love the cinema, the atmosphere , the smell of popcorn. When my son was much younger we would go a couple of times a year. The original Transformers movie in the cinema was awesome.
Alas hes 25 now so Ive been twice in the last 10 years. The missus isnt the most massive of fans and doesnt like what I like.

Me, not that much it's been a couple of years since I last went.

With the price of going and them showing up on streaming services later there is no incentive to go TBH.

Why? For what? Mainstream movies are trash. Any good ones usually dont even get to the theatre level.

Of course, even made a popcorn box with a hole cut in the bottom.

Sometimes I will go to a movie. If me and the wife have a night or day by ourselves we will go catch a movie.

I haven't been since pre-pandemic.

I just think that I've become quite jaded to things, and expect to roll my eyes a dozen or so times whilst watching cinema releases.

I think, but I'm not sure, that the last film that I saw was Venom 2 at the ODEON at Leicester Square.
