I only smoke on breaks at work or when I'm driving long distances. I think it's just something to do out of boredom.

I quit in 2010. I will occasionally enjoy a cigar or tobacco pipe nowadays because they're far healthier choices but I'm not addicted.

I think its really weird how they are going so hard on tobacco and vaping but when it comes to alcohol its fuckin party time!

I thought I missed it, until I had a puff years after quitting. It felt like antman was using my throat for a hotbox. Couldn't get that taste out fast enough.

Nothing like an alcoholic talking down to someone enjoying their vape/cigarette. It was always like that with weed too, hypocrites everywhere lol. I can understand if people are blowing their smoke/vape onto someone, otherwise mind your business.

I don't know why anyone would smoke with vaping out there now though. I used to be a regular smoker, but haven't had more than one or two in about 5 years since I bought my first vape, it tastes so disgusting now. I use the lowest nicotine amount and the flavour I enjoy barely gives off a scent. Nice and discreet happy place with my coffee.

Word. Its taken over quite a bit (vaping)
I notice when I go into the city for work if you see someone smoking ciggs they are almost always a tourist or just moved here.
Its kinda funny.
I think its easier for some people to just smoke because it doesnt really require extra equipment and is cheaper up front to get into.
Id prefer vaping tho if I had to choose.

Because people that own vape stores are idiots, mostly.

I can't stand the places. They are extremely uninviting for the average old dudes that just wants something small and simple to get off cigs. You walk into some seedy backroom store and there's a bunch of stoners on the lounge just hanging out. Then, basically, all the stuff they sell is for 'mods' or complicated shit I have no interest in.

smoking is disgusting. gone are the times when smoking was considered cool. now smokers look like melts who cant quit a nasty habit.

I never had that experience thankfully. The store I go to is always very friendly/inviting. I remember being apprehensive on my first visit, thinking I'd have an experience like you described, but they were very helpful. I've been to a number of other stores, especially when I'm travelling and forget to bring extra coils or something, they've all been pretty positive. I'm sure there are lot's of shitty places though

I usually know/have researched what I want, but I ask a lot of questions just to be sure, so I think that helps. People loving sharing their knowledge, especially niche things like vape modding. I could give two less shits about that lol, but I Iike building rapports with places I frequent, and you never know what you can learn. I think I'm going to start making my own E juices, as one guy who works there does.

I used to when it was the cool thing to do, that was like 10 years ago.

Nowadays I'll social smoke every now and then when I'm drunk.

Why don't you just order some shit online?

No, that shit is disgusting. Most smokers are lazy people who can't even be bothered to throw their trash away. Instead, it ends up on the ground and becomes someone else's problem.

When I was around 11, my grandfather moved in with my family because he was too old and sick to take care of himself. He had lung cancer from decades of smoking. I saw the full consequences of a reasonably healthy person deteriorate after surgery/chemo and then basically pass away. That experience pretty much sealed the deal for me for life. I smoke cigar/weed once in a blue moon, but that's about it.

No. Never. And I have zero sympathy for those that sick from it.

I recently went from smoking weed everyday, to maybe a tiny hit once every 2 weeks. Ciggerettes I'm a social smoker, so if I'm not around any smokers ill never touch it. Once one of my employees comes back I'll probably have the odd ciggerette with him when he goes on break

Yeah it was like romanticized movies. Interesting how times have changed and how cigarette smoking is looked so negatively now.
Just came across this thread , yea cigarettes and soda were the big things back in those days . They also looked much older then what is seen now ,I’ve seen movies where 27 year olds look older then me and I’m 50 now . Robert Redford looked mid 30”s when he was only like 22 etc etc by today’s standards. My older brother smoked since he was 13 so he’s been smoking 50 years and he gets mistaken for my father often and we’re less then 3 years apart . Ha ha .

I remember those candy cigarettes back in the day bf they banned them ,crazy world where once you could hook kids on cigarettes when they got older through brain washing in ways .
