I was hyped for him to come to the UFC and he’s far exceeded my expectations. Been really cool to see him grow and become this big star. I remember watching his LFA fight right before he joined.
 
I’m rooting for Ank, but Poatan is a likeable dude. can’t find any reason to hate on him.
 
I honestly don't know how as a fan of combat sports you could dislike Poatan. Same goes for Pride version of Fedor and I'd also argue the same for prime Chuck.

He's respectful, has high level skills, is a physical freak, and comes to kill or be killed almost every single fight. He also has 10 fights in four years in the UFC, so is very active.

You can't ask for anything more IMO.

True and no one is surprised.
They’ll hate all the opponents who their favorite fighters are going against next, start smear campaigns and hate threads. Then when someone points that out, they play the victim card. Rinse and repeat.
 
What's not to love? He may have gotten fast tracked to the title, but it's absolutley not his fault that LHW today is a striker's div.

I dont know for the life of me, how anyone who is a fan of this sport could dislike this man. He fights so often, he doesn't make excuses when he loses, he doesn't duck or really talk a bunch of shit. Just a supremely confident silent killer with charisma.

He's the best thing to happen to the sport since Izzy and Volk.

He's pretty awesome. A finisher, elite striker, active champ and class act.
I also think he's one of the most protected fighters but that's another story.
 
Indifferent but I respect him a lot. I don't hate any fighter, even colby

He was teleported to a TS after beating two strikers. There was a number of decent grapplers he could have fought like Brunson, Allen, Vettori.
Yes I know MW was a wasteland and Izzy needed a fresh challenger. Still don't mean he wasn't protected.

I think it was a combination of fast tracking him, but also Brunson and Vettori are just not exciting fighters. It would be bad business probably to put him in there with them. Especially Vettori, who is nigh indestructable.

But now that he's on top, he gotta fight whoever deserves it.
 
To be honest i think you really need to be a massive of of another fighter to hate him, he doesn't seem to do much to deserve it otherwise.

Realistically I think we known 95% of negative comment about him comes from Izzy fans.
