The only fighter that I find myself watching the promos for anymore.

I think he’s the bomb. If we had a Poatan in every division - ie active champion getting finishes, the sport would be booming.

Poatan was never in his prime while in the UFC. That's is one of the things that's pretty cool about him.

He started his career late.. Even kickboxing.. he went into it at his 20s.

Skill wise he is in his absolute prime. Physically he does not seem to have slowed down but maybe it is the fact that he started fighting at LHW not too long ago after being a career MW.

Time will tell if he is another Yoel Romero type of freak or just benefited from fighting at heavier weight classes.

Incredible athlete in any case.

Well Ankalaev is a sambo champion. He's the only one now as he's only had championship fights at LHW. Clealry the rematch with Prochazka and the fight with Rountree were unnecessary - let's put it this way. Could have given the shot to Krylov at this point, he had better wins than Khalil.
But I'm talking his whole career. He faced ONE grappler in Michailidis across two weight classes.

Krylov is super underrated. Specially considering he was not very good when he got signed.
Too bad has been very inactive.

Hard not to love what this guy has brought to the sport. Championship pedigree, star power, amazing fights, and finishes, high activity, no excuses, not completely full of himself. It'll be a short run as he's getting older and likely can't maintain this for long. But it's been such a treat for the time he's been here.

I don't know what to think about him. I started liking him, but then I started getting annoyed that he kept getting fed strikers.

I'll like him a lot more if he gets grappled tomorrow, regardless of whether he wins or loses against it. If he doesn't get grappled I'm still going to be annoyed that I can't tell if he's a legit mixed martial artist and champion or not.

What more could you really want in a fighter? It's sad he's close to aged out for a striker.
