Most of the time I like birds.
With that said there are a great many wood peckers that live in the area. Very beautiful birds to look at, but once a wood pecker begins drilling away on the house or a drain pipe, it can be quite loud and annoying.

Had to get rid of him because he could mimic the sound of the coffee maker and the microwave.
My parents kept getting woken up in the middle of the night thinking the house was going to catch fire.

Where do you live?? It sounds completely crazy that you have many in your vicinity. I'm downright jealous.
In the country I live in, we have a few kinds of woodpeckers and I think I've seen one in the wild once in my life, and heard them a few times. We react with delight if we hear any hammering noise and are eager to find the source of the sound, but our woodpeckers are so shy that they have become a bit mythical, a bit of that feeling if you were to see a Lynx in the wild.
Here are 3 types of woodpeckers we have in Sweden. We have a few more, but they are similar to the ones in the pictures and are smaller in size.

He would also call out "pretty bird" and whistle while rubbing his private area on the corner of his cage.
With that said, giving him up was pretty easy. My mom worked with an older gentleman that had two cockatiels. Sadly, one passed away (they have a long lifespan). So, the female of the pair was very depressed. My mom gave this gentleman Larry.
The female of the pair took a shine to Larry and they lived quite a few years together.

Ahh I can just imagine good'ol Larry rubbing his privates up against his new friend and having the time of his life. LOL. Sounds like she wasn't depressed after that too, which is good.

I'm neutral. Back in the days my old roommate had a bird. That bastard would be yapping early in the morning and chew up my game cube controller wires.
Birds that I do not like are the damn pigeons that love to chill on the rooftops and nest underneath the solar panels. Luckily I put up wire barrier around mine, but they still chill up there at times, probably trying to chew away the wire. Luckily there's a bunch of rooftop panels without wires that they end up nesting in

I think they're awesome.
I put out a lot of food for them and get quite a few varieties in my garden. Part of the appeal is the diversity so I can't say I have a favourite species, but one of the most utterly adorable are the long-tailed tits.
They're tiny little things, and turn up in family groups of around 10, often with a few random other small birds who've joined the gang.

A Lemming from the very northern part of Sweden
It's lovely during a cold winter month, which unfortunately doesn't happen very often anymore, to look out of the kitchen window and see the different birds eating from the birdhouse.
