Do you like birds?

So pigeons aren't disease carrying? I thought I had heard that they were one of the culprits of the plague. But I'll eat their cousins the dove. It just seems weird to even eat pigeon... Cultural Mores are strong.
Their pretty clean for a bird.
Their manure isn't. Its acidic.

My wife was talking with this old lady. She mentioned something about mosquitoes and flies being a nuisance. The old lady says put out some feeders get the birds in and they will take care of it. I'm like that makes sense I suppose. I go out buy some feeders different varieties of foods. Sure enough the birds came but now I have mosquitoes, flies , and a racoon problem lol. Then I'm like well maybe cut off the food every now and then maybe they will get hungry and eat the bugs. Nope they just leave and raccoons get in my trash and buildings
Bird feeders bring in rats and mice too. Get a bat house if you can

Are your hens protected and their role is only to lay eggs?

I have an acquaintance who has a couple of dwarf hens of some kind that they could never imagine eating as they think they are like cute pets that lay little eggs as a bonus.
Yea they're protected. Worked on hard their coop and run. Have lots of predators around I need to protect them from. Asshole bear tried gettung thru the coop door last weekend. Happens again and he's getting taken out.

I wouldn't call them pets. More like mini goats. I didn't get them to slaughter but would if needed to

Introducing to those that don't know the most majestic Bird of Prey the Philippine Eagle. Critically Endangered. Must do everything for this species to survive.

Beautiful!

I can see some similarities with this sloth hunter.

Great if it's only about 1. He must be very happy to have found a secret place that only he knows about.

In the public workplaces here, it is forbidden to feed seagulls in particular. They attract other loud bullies and bombard our cars with corrosive poo.

Apart from chicken, duck, goose and turkey, I have tried.

Something I have always avoided is pigeons. Since childhood, I have always thought of pigeons as flying rats.

Pigeons taste good, just not a lot of meat on them

I really like Magpies, Crows[except for the noise they make] and Ravens, they are very smart birds.

Yes there is truth in that they are some intelligent birds. Something I've also noticed in many videos is that they seem to show love by holding onto a finger with their beak and not wanting to let go. It's fun to watch anyway.
