Do You Consider Benson 'Smooth' Henderson Boring or Not?

In a combined 127 fights between Miller, Diaz, Thomson, Melendez, and Edgar they have 4 losses by finish. HOW DARE BENSON NOT FINISH THEM!?

Also this should end the thread, but of course it won't.

Here are some stats from each of his fights since the first Pettis loss.

bold + red = his significant striking output

The number directly to the right of his opponents' names are their totals...

I see a guy who is consistently outpacing, out striking, and outperforming his opponents by several multiples in almost all of his fights.

Even the much lauded Nate Diaz was horribly outstruck in his fight with Bendo. Why didn't Nate fight more aggressive, amirite?

I like Bendo, but at times he seems a bit tentative. Guess he's gauging his opponents. He has killer instinct, but pulls back a lot right at the times I'm screaming "smash him" at the TV....sometimes when he doesn't pull back he gets caught though, and badly. Hard to say whats going through the guys head but the hair thing is funny and annoying sometimes. He's a character amongst the many other characters. Stiff competition at light weight.

Because Nate is boring. Keeps the fight standing and never stops throwing punches, yawn.

Yep. The definition of a point fighter. Dude probably wants to or likes going to decisions.

He doesn't bore me but he makes me scream at my TV more than any other fighter. He has no sense of urgency and I feel like he can DOMINATE. He is talented.

Anyway, no.

This is how I feel. If he fought like he did in the Diaz fight, Bocek, Miller, and Guida fight, or any of his WEC fights essentially. He would dominate, not eek out decisions. I's frustrating he fights a lot less urgent and differently then he used to and I think his trainers are to blame.

Bro, I give you respect for being the first person I've ever seen admit that.

lol well.. first round was awesome! And i loved seeing him humble Nate a bit. But he's just too cheesy man.. dat smile. Tone it down Benson!

Also goes to show how he literally doubled the significant strikes of Josh Thompson in that "robbery"

No. And I think he is way too underappreciated.

I enjoy most of his fight, he is very athletic, has great grappling, great kicks (especially those low kicks)

I am excited to hear who his next opponent gonna be. I disagree with some of the decisions he has gotten, but such is MMA. Judging needs fixing for sure.

I don't even get what people are talking about with Bendo/Thomson, I thought it was a very good fight.

Not a fan of him but I do enjoy watching him fight, hoping he loses usually.

not a fan and i voted no

i thought thomson won but he was more to blame than bendo for it be boring

He's had a couple boring fights(the Melendez and Thompson fights) but he's generally entertaining to watch.

He seems like a really nice guy, and he's very gifted in a physical and technical sense.

BUT yes, he is boring now. People defending him are putting up straw man arguments, but the fact remains that even if he does land "more" strikes and looks more aggressive on paper, he fights with a lot of reserve and a "how do I win this round with minimal risk" mentality.

I'm not even saying that it is wrong, do what you got to do to win IMO and everyone else be damned. But yes, it is boring.

1000x this. I thought it was a really exiting fight. I was baffeled when I read the topics here the day after.

And no I don't think Bendo is boring and can't understand how someone could think that. He has never really been in a boring fight and I still think bendo vs pettis id one of the greatest fights ever. Yes there is lots of grappling involved in his fights but its usually mostly some crazy scrampling. Im not even a fan.
