Do You Consider Benson 'Smooth' Henderson Boring or Not?

Diego v Guida was boring to me. I just hate both guys and have 0 interest ever watching them fight. Diego recently is terrible he just swings and misses while getting punched in the face then wins a decision.

Diego is only exciting while getting his ass kicked.

I never saw the second Edgar fight, but I thought all his fights have been entertaining. I don't get the hate for the guy, he cant control the judges.

A lot of people, myself included, believe he lost the 2nd Edgar fight. I think after that, people began to dislike him, and that hate is compounded by all his subsequent close decisions.

There is an obvious bias to saying he is boring, as far as boring fighters go, he's probably not even in the top 20.

Edit: I'm just saying top 20, but in reality, I don't really believe in a "boring" fighter. Fighters fight to win, not to make sure "just bleed" guy enjoys himself.

No. He's just gotta learn to finish fights once in a while. The main thing is that Benson has all the talent in the world, people have high expectations from him. With that much skill and natural athleticism, people have high standards for him. At the same time, its not like benson has been fighting a bunch of scrubs. Most of the guys he has fought in his last several fights are guys that rarely get finished.

Exactly. He went for a sub. He took Thomson down and immediately went into side control and started dropping elbows on Thomson's head. He nearly finished Edgar with that up-kick and that kick off the ground to Edgar's neck was brutal. He beat the shit out of Miller and Guida and despite outclassing them, kept pushing the pace of the fight for it's entirety.

He may not be getting these finishes, but it's not as if he's just fighting for the sake to score points. He's doing what he can, it's just not yielding finishes. When people say someone is point fighting, I find it funny. Do they really think the guy is just trying to ride out twenty-five minutes?

I think more so Benson is aware that the guys he's fighting are cumbersome to finish. How many times have Diaz, Melendez, Edgar, Guida, Miller and Thomson been finished? Aggregate total is probably few. He's fighting aggressive in these bouts, pushing the pace. The finishes just aren't happening because the skill level is close and these guys are tough to finish.

In Thomson's best round of their fight (round one), who actually attempted more submissions while on the ground?

not boring but his wins arent decisive, which i dislike.

He's not boring at all. Most of his fights are barnburners, the real problem is he has stupid haters.

In a combined 127 fights between Miller, Diaz, Thomson, Melendez, and Edgar they have 4 losses by finish. HOW DARE BENSON NOT FINISH THEM!?

IMO he is well rounded but his best skill set is his ability to lose weight. Even though being bigger and heavier than his foes he is not capable of finish fights. His lack of aggressiveness is frustrating. And he says all the time how he wants to be remembered as the GOAT. I just can

B-b-b-but he's not aggressive enough!

Benson takes many risks. You definitely need to see the Diaz and Guida fights. He was going balls to the wall.

You don't think Sanchez is exciting? That's mind boggling shit right there.

What risk did Bendo took in fights with Edgar, Diaz, Gil or Thomson?

Upkick that landed on Edgar?? And?? Thats it?? In 10 rounds one upkick?? So much risk.

He was dominating Diaz so much it was not even funny yet he couldn't finish him and as Thomson shown that Diaz can be finished if you do the right things.

Bendo took risks with Guida because he is a lower level fighter and Bendo knew it. Guida didn't KO anyone for over 3 years when they fought and he still didn't KO anyone till this day so standing and brawling with Guida is not some accomplishment in my book. Stand and bang with Pettis and see how that goes. Oh yeah, we saw how that went....both times

Bendo is content to maintain distance, land kicks or grind against the fence. Nothing wrong with it but don't expect me to find him as exciting as Condit or someone like that

I don't find him boring, but I've been rooting against him every since he start getting gift decisions.
