Exactly. He went for a sub. He took Thomson down and immediately went into side control and started dropping elbows on Thomson's head. He nearly finished Edgar with that up-kick and that kick off the ground to Edgar's neck was brutal. He beat the shit out of Miller and Guida and despite outclassing them, kept pushing the pace of the fight for it's entirety.
He may not be getting these finishes, but it's not as if he's just fighting for the sake to score points. He's doing what he can, it's just not yielding finishes. When people say someone is point fighting, I find it funny. Do they really think the guy is just trying to ride out twenty-five minutes?
I think more so Benson is aware that the guys he's fighting are cumbersome to finish. How many times have Diaz, Melendez, Edgar, Guida, Miller and Thomson been finished? Aggregate total is probably few. He's fighting aggressive in these bouts, pushing the pace. The finishes just aren't happening because the skill level is close and these guys are tough to finish.
