Do You Consider Benson 'Smooth' Henderson Boring or Not?

I don't think it is that simple. He is now fighting the best that the UFC, Strikeforce and WEC had to offer, I'm not sure urgency is the big issue. I have said it before, I'll say it again, if Bendo greatly improves his boxing he will be a completely different fighter. It's his glaring defficiency and would really improve his chances of finishing IMO.
 
No. Sometimes he's in boring fights. Sometimes he isn't. I don't think he's the most exciting guy on the planet, but definitely not the least exciting.

Also not gonna hate him for being in/winning close decisions. All he did was fight. Hate the judges, yo.
 
Not at all. I've never found Benson boring. Always had underrated striking imo.
 
benson has too much skill and versatility to be boring. he's no different than gsp, except his fights are much more competitive. you can count on 25 minutes, but you know 4 rounds will be toss-ups.
 
No. He isn't my favorite fighter by any means but he is world class and has had a lot of great fights. That makes him interesting to watch for me.

I think he gets tons of shit for no reason. He doesn't talk trash, he is always respectful and it's not like he is rigging his fights The judges are giving him the decisions.
 
I don't find him boring does he fight safe, yes. Much like GSP, Benson is a cerebral fighter he would rather out think you than brawl you. Cerebral fighters tend to retire with their looks & bank accounts intact.
The GSP's & Henderson's lack the primal nature of fighting and approach fighting like a chess game. I think they or Henderson needs to put away the think books and start to get real stink, you can still be a thinking fighter, but in a fight you need to get raw primal and hulk out on a opponent.

Not so much boring but a point fighter down to the letter. It's not like I literally want to fall asleep or am waiting for the fight to be over like some other guys.

I don't recall ever being bored during his fights, but its Not all about finishes to me.
 
His style irritates me, I wouldn't call it boring but I would never say he was the reason a fight was exciting, even if the fight itself was. There's no sense that anything can happen at any time because nothing about his game is particularly threatening, to compound his lack of power.

Call me a hater, I've tried to like the guy, he's a local boy, plenty of my friends know his brother, but fuckin hell man as far as Benson Henderson the mixed martial artist goes, he just doesn't do it for me.
 
Nah, I'm waiting until someone kicks him in the face or chokes him out while he's fixing his hair though.
 
He is an extremely durable guy but he lacks one punch KO power, so in that respect, he is not as interesting as the guys that have it and can end a fight at any time.
 
Not boring but he bugs me. I thought he was losing 3-1 in the 5th round of the Thomson fight. Josh had a broken hand & still he never pushed hard for that finish. He wasn't aggressive & he coasted. Kinda hard to really get into that..
 
People tend to forget that it takes two to tangle and Ben always presses the action. The only time I saw him not was against Pettis. People get to into their emotions when they favorite fighter loses a very close fight. I don't find Ben boring, I enjoy watching him fight.
 
I don't think he's boring but I think he underperforms. Similar to the Thompson fight I thought his fight with Edgar felt the same. He's not boring because I think he's shown flashes of brilliance but sometimes I feel like he's on cruise control.
 
He's actually really aggressive and intense, I'm not a huge fan of him but I think, much like GSP and Aldo to some extent, their opponents have been so good that getting finishes is less likely. Look at the Miller fight, he beat the living shit out of him, same with Guida, he just can't finish. I think the Thomson fight was boring but Thomson is pretty boring too, the Nate Diaz KO kinda made people forget his normal grinding style.
 
If you find a high quality fighter engaging in high quality fights boring you should find another sport to watch...

Maybe WWE is for you
 
I honestly haven't found him entertaining since his WEC days.

The fact that Thompson stuck around 4 rounds after breaking his thumb and allowing himself to be taken down so many times.. the Gil and Frankie fights had their moments but I really don't enjoy watching him anymore.
