No. The climate has fluctuated for millions of years before us and will continue to do so when we're gone.

Mother Nature is powerful, it doesn't give a fuck and does what it wants when it wants. Humans bend the knee.
No way we could have a meaningful effect on global atmospheric conditions and change things beyond the range they've been fluctuating over the millennia, right?

Milankovic Cycles certainly have an impact. They run about 25K - 30K years in time.

I would consult with Geologists as they have long term views of climate. I am fortunate to have a Professor of Geology that I've worked with for over the past decade. She is brilliant and runs our most complex projects as well as teaches at Cal State.

Great, so how does this cycle work to warm the planet. Does it increase the energy we get from the sun or is there another mechanism?

No, we're in a cooling cycle right now. For the past 60 years Solar Irradiance
It's not just the US. China is where Western countries outsource as much of their dirty industries as they can so they can say they're nice & green while maintaining an affordable & good standard of living. We move all the dirty shit to the other side of the world, literally, so that our people don't see it every day.

Have at look at China exports by country, US holds 20%, Hong Kong another 10% that ends exported back to US and Europe.

There is no doubt that we are damaging the planet, but world has warmed and cooled since the dawn of time. We really don't the level of impact that we are having. The Climate change narrative is also a huge money maker for certain industries. I can agree with both left and right points of view on the subject, because two things can be true.

It's a huge money maker for the people in power now. Is there any bigger examples of evil corporate greed than oil companies?
This argument about a new, evil shadow group doesnt' make any sense.
There is a lot more money for a lot more powerful people to lose right now by changing things.
Cleaning up this planet would come with a whole lot of regulations and penalties/consequences, which is more costs and taxes. Which companies and rich people are for that?

This isn't just about temperature, and the conversation should be expanded to just taking care of the planet. This is about deforestation, pollution, emissions, garbage, wasteful habits, and a whole host of other things that are all contributing to fucking this planet up.

The wobble of the Sun and Earth matter as well in this cycle. Distance is an issue, but way more important is the angle of the Sun, which these wobbles absolutely make that change.

Yes, although I don't think we have a good model for predicting how it affects the future. But we dump chemicals in the water, cut down trees, and blow a bunch of CO2 in the air, the Earth is going to react and cause us harm.

So why aren't we seeing the extra energy in the Solar Irradiance data and why is the troposphere warming and not the stratosphere?

Until China, India & Russia are onboard I don't give AF. No amount of money or taxation in the US is going to change it.

This is 100% true. The ONLY nation that met the Paris Climate Accord numbers were the U.S. under Trump and we didn't follow it, because we knew the rest of those shitheel nations would not do their part. France is awesome, but the rest not so much.

The Kyoto Protocol if followed completely would make no difference. All this bullshit the Globalists are doing is simply to transfer wealth from nations like America.

The world needs to embrace nuclear power properly until we work out a better baseload energy source. Small Modular Reactors are an amazing innovation. They have no emissions. They use the waste from the legacy nuclear plants as their fuel. They have no meltdown potential. They can be placed nearly anywhere, alleviating the need for power lines across forests.

I also don't want to hear shit out of people with private jets.

More fuel for plants that is good
for the heat balance of the geosphere, not so much

In some ways like crop production yes. Not so much for some ecosystems, e.g. African savannahs where CO2 enrichment is favoring shrubby thorny brush over grassland and the animals adapted to them.

Nah, that dog won't hunt.

Yes, even the goddamn oil and gas companies admit it now, after trying to cloud the water for so long.

The fact that there are still so many people in here spouting these snippets of garbage propoganda denying it is illustration of the inability of the average persons to deal with scientific literature with any intellectual rigour.

Yes mankind can and does effect the climate. The debate is how much is man and how much is climate cycle.

Ther can be argument pollution is bad and should be minimized.

The next debate is how much of the movement is scams. I say a good portion is political and financial scam.

man made climate change: perhaps

actual impact on overall climate change: probably negligible

I don't believe in it; I accept the overwhelming scientific consensus which states that it is real and that the activies of man have greatly accelerated it.

Man made climate change is the next "covid." It's going to be used to control you and make certain globalists and leftists rich.

We've fucking destroyed the Oceans. If that isn't proof enough we're fucking up the planet then nothing is.

Also, deforestation.

Imagine a world without trees. A baron desert.

You're damn right we're destroying the planet
