Because they both setup eye pokes with a kick.Because they are both black?
Obviously it was a poke but Gane's fingers were vertical, not horizontal, which is legal. It's like a straight arm in football. It was just unfortunate the fingers landed on the eyelids. If he had been just an inch or so higher he would have been pushing against Tom's forehead and nobody would have said a thing about it.Agreed! I doubt he was trying to rake Tom's eyes, but he knew having his fingers out there would either prevent Tom from coming forward, or if he did, he'd get poked and then Gane could play innocent.
I can't even believe there are people who think this was remotely unintentional.
It's like running towards someone with a knife and saying oh but I didn't mean to stab them.
The easiest solution is the simplest one.Fighters should wear goggles.
And to avoid blood clouding those up, goggles need to have wipers.
Problem solved.
In Muay Thai when you throw certain kicks (like Gane did) it's taught to frame your hand out there for defense purposes on what can come back to you. This was an accident. He was performing a martial arts technique. The easiest solution is the simplest one.
Poke someone, they get to poke you back.
Nut kick, get kicked back.
1 point deduction for every foul sounds uneven. This way, no one can complain anyone had an advantage.
Dude his fingers were literally angled towards Tom's eyes. Yes it wasn't on a 0 degree plane.Obviously it was a poke but Gane's fingers were vertical, not horizontal, which is legal. You know you can just ignore the thread, just saying...
Well it's the only sport (combat sport) where most fans never tried the sport, making it very easy to criticize those who have. All the front page has proven since Saturday is that MMA fans hate MMA fighters.
Hahaha spammer...you're the first one to call me that.I can ignore you too, spammer.

Just look at your post count vs mine, it's not rocket science.
From what I know, framing is meant to throw your opponent off center. Not too stick your fingers out when kicking them. But always looking to learn new techniques. Are there any videos online of Gane's framing style? In Muay Thai when you throw certain kicks (like Gane did) it's taught to frame your hand out there for defense purposes on what can come back to you. This was an accident. He was performing a martial arts technique.
Ok that's it. We should ban Muay Thai from the sport. We should watch limited martial arts instead of mixed martial arts. We'll call it LMA from now on.
It's a technique that's taught on certain types of kicks. Are we really shocked a Muay Thai fighter uses a technique in Muay Thai? How weird that there's guys who are successful and Muy Thai is their background and they DON'T eye poke their opponents!
I didn't see one with this a gif as clear as this. But hey if you can find it, feel free to link it here and I'll ask a mod to merge the thread.I'm not posting stuff that's been posted a million times in 3 days. You know there's already a bunch of threads on this subject, you can see them.
