Do ya'll think the Colby/Jorge beef is fake?--IF so why??

I think most beefs in Mma aren’t fake , but exaggerated to a point to generate interest.
Now I feel like a mark saying this but I genuinely feel like these 2 hate each other’s guts

Exaggerated, and you can base it off the fact that Colby and Usman had a bro moment after their fight, even tho Colby supposedly hated him. And Colby still can’t even provide a good reason as to why he has problems with Masvidal besides saying Masvidal became jealous of him after winning the interim.

Colby ripped off Masvidal’s Coach out of a lot of money. That’s the reason

the beef over the money thing is legit. Is the hate at the level it's being sold for this fight, probably not. They are layering it on for the sell. If not for that they would just be two guys who had a falling out and would be going their separate way.

i think colby personna is fabricated but he still took it too far, i think he really did get kicked out of ATT and he isn't friends anymore with the guys there but i also think they both overplay it, and they don't care that much about the whole thing but i don't expect them to hug or shakehands afterward or to see colby back at ATT ever

IMO it's a real beef but there's an incentive of getting as many PPV buys as possible so they are going to over act.

Remember back in the day when before a fight they would show a few clips of each fighter with an all black background saying a few things about the upcoming fight and their opponent?

Over time the things they said became increasingly negative, growing from criticism to disdain.

If you ever got the chance to watch a larger segment of any of those videos, you'd see the fighters were simply responding to baited questions.

In fact there were a few clips about 15 years ago of Randy Couture sitting in the chair in the all black room with the light on him, smiling and chuckling and shaking his head as they asked those questions, refusing to be baited, saying things like, "I'm not... No, I'm not going to say anything negative about him."

These so-called beefs have been fabricated from the beginning. Some are real, most are wolf tickets.

Before Chael Sonnen blew up he had made comments on all the fake beefs as well.

Even GSP tried to manufacture a beef with Hughes.

WWE-style marketing sells fights.

A lot of people here say the beef is fake. And rankly I found that shocking? I think it's 100% real. Like people have falling outs all the time in real life. This doesn't seem outlandish.

What about Colby/Mas getting kicked out of ATT over fighting? What about Colby changing gyms? Ya'll believe that is fake too? Why?

What Dustin Poirier saying Colby is a piece of shit and that he'd only fight him in the streets? Or Joanna calling for Colby to get kicked out? What about Woodley going off about Colby being a traitor and scumbag? Do people think that is fake too?

Am I the one's who is crazy? What evidence do have supporting the fake beef narrative?

They are obviously manufacturing drama to increase their payout, but below that predictable topography, this is a critical fight for both of them. Colby needs to put in some serious work to land another crack at Marty, not to discount his rounds won, and Masvidal risks losing what he only very recently gained; big pay days, infamy and all the accoutrements of genuine fanfare. With his mileage, this is a daunting matchup that could objectively force him into irrelevance. He will have no issues raking in some cash from Bellator, but he’s not trying to let Colby shit on his career by book ending it with a dec win and booting him from the UFC. Colby, for his part, understands his own brand is significantly weakened by losing. He was so close with Marty, he’s been put on hold essentially. A holding pattern is not necessarily bad or good, but it’s time. And wrestlers don’t have time to waste. Some of his recent wins have aged as poorly as his opponents in those same matches, so Masvidal offers a genuine window back to being annoyingly prominent. It would totally refill Colbys promotional gas tank and give him enough to chew on until he (potentially) works back to a title shot.

So Masvidals recent interview on ESPN with Marc Raimondi.. he says "Colbys character is fabricated and not real, just to make money because no one wants to watch his fight, thats not really him". then a few minutes later he says "I realised Colby has a really bad character and personality when he was saying mean things about Jon Jones behind his back".

A bit of a contradiction there isn't it, I thought his character is totally made up, as you said. So which is it.

He means theres a whiny back-stabbing B*tch side to him as well as a Public Heel character that is obviously fake. Basically he's a multi-faceted douchbag

It seems like a fake beef that has bled into being semi-real. Moreso like both guys forgot that they are playing an act and started to believe their own bullshit.

the worst kind of “beef” in my opinion, where both guys had talked themselves into a corner with how much they hate the other, but clearly the emotions don’t match. It usually leads to stinker fights.
