Do people on here like Nunes? Or do they just want Ronda to lose?

except that you're all about the hype train. you don't like RR because others really like her, not because of her. you don't care about Nunes for the same reason (because she has no following) - if she did my guess is you'd have strong feelings for her.

two sides of the same coin, my friend. not unlike Cosell's famous quote i'm surely butchering "i don't care if they like me or hate me, as long as they're talking about me at the water cooler."

there's a lot of interesting aspects to this bout. Nunes has done great, but re-watching (or quite likely watching for the first time) her bout with Cat may bring her down to earth about how to beat her. whereas RR's skills and holes need no re-review; i'm sure you know all about them. can RR beat her on the ground? get an armbar from some random position? can she get a throw in the first place? has she learned patience or will she rush into jabs and crosses with her arms wide open ala her HH bout? similarly, does Nunes stick and move? or will she allow in-fighting which could lead to a judo throw? how will her well-discussed bjj do against an armbar specialist?

it could be an interesting bout, if you cared about any of it. but you're more concerned with hype trains. just one asshole's opinion. i could be wrong; OTOH this could be a good time for introspection instead of defensiveness on your side. no offense meant either way. cheers.
I just dont follow wmma that much. I expect Nunes to come in aggressive like they typically does (plant her feet and throw power shots), I think ronda takes advantage of this and catches her and throws her and subs her. Thats my opinion on the fight. I'm more interested in the rest of the card, because wmma isn't much my thing (not because of wmma hype trains, but because of the lack of skill)

If she wins the title back, how is she undeserving and which fighters qualify as "deserving"?

I can't stand Tony Ferguson, but 10 wins in a row in a row so I'll use him for example. He deserves more money than Ronda IMO, but yeah Ronda could lose three in a row and probably still get more money and be a bigger draw because she's a name brand. The UFC caters to her way too much, but again that's my opinion

Do you feel the same about Conor who lost and then got a title shot after winning a narrow decision and being on a one fight streak?

WRONG

Ronda winning is the best thing to ever happen to wmma. She's only coming back for a few more fights any way. WMMA lost it's luster when she lost. People tuned in to watch Holly lose to Miesha and they haven't cared since. Ronda will bring attention to it one more time before bowing out. Nunes can't carry WMMA into the future.

Like I said, IMO. The UFC will keep being successful regardless of Ronda. We don't need her force fed to us.

After Ronda lost I was much more interested in women's BW because we got to spotlight other talents and to me the division became much more exciting and unpredictable

Wouldn't call myself a Nunes fan, but she seems like a Cyborg-lite to me. I'm also not a Ronda hater, but despite all the "I'm back" promos she seems to be mentally out the door.

I don't feel he deserved the title shot, if that's what you mean. I'm a fan of his, but he's not even my favorite LW and if he ever left the UFC I wouldn't care. I'd be just as interested if not more to see what other fighters can bring. To me the UFC is much bigger than Ronda or Conor

fair enough.

i think this fight could be interesting. then again it could go down exactly the way you think. which pretty much makes it like most MMA bouts.

Clearly nobody in the mainstream media, UFC, or casuals care about Nunes and just want to focus on Ronda whether they like or hate her, but what about you guys and gals?

Personally I'm not a big fan of wmma mainly due to the skill gap and the hype for ronda didn't help and I honestly dont care that much for Nunes I just dont like Ronda, so for the people rooting for Nunes, do you actually like her or do you just hate Ronda?

Also i think Ronda wins this and the laughable hype train will get back on track unfortunately
When a man came out of the shadows with the red saber I was actually too gassed.

Darth Vader might just be the best villain in history (other than The Joker ;))

Ah okay, so not hypocritical lol.

Still I don't know that Ronda and Conor are undeserving of the spotlight, sure other fighters might be as good as them/possibly better but they have proven they are up there with the best and "some of" the best get more spotlight in any sport.

Amanda is one of the very, very few women fighters who throw with mean intentions and can actually hurt their opponent. She's ferocious, completely deserving of her nickname "The Lioness."

Even though I hate Ronda and wish nothing but the worst for her, I want Amanda to win because I like her.

they are a lotttt more tame than they were before the holly fight, the reason they aren't as bad is just because theres really nothing positive for them to talk about. I mean their favorite fighter got exposed and disappeared for a year, not much to talk about as a psychotic fan.

I fully expect if ronda wins the insufferable fanbase will return 2x as bad. Ronda fans make rabid conor fans look like saints.

the haters were always way more annoying and obsessed with her than the fans. even before the holly fight.

inside the octagon, i like both, different styles but both very aggressive. Outside the octagon i dont really care. All I want is to watch a good fight.

For me, it's both. I dislike Ronda and I like Nunes. I still hope Ronda wins, though, just to see the Sherdog rage and agony. That will be epic.

No one cares about Nunes, they barely know her. Everyone just wants Ronda to lose.. including me.

BOO HOO Ronda wins too much. She's too talented. She's too dominating. She doesn't allow less talented fighters to shine.

You need to realize there would be no women in the UFC without Ronda and she earned all her hype by living up to it.

True, but Ronda is also one of the very few lol.
