Elections DNC today in Chicago

Didn't Captain Brainspurs backpedal about how much clout a VP has when he realised what a fuck up he made picking Shady JD.
No idea what that idiot says.

Either she was a DEI pick in a ceremonial position which has zero power or she was in a position as the “last person in the room” held sway in an administration with HER NAME ON IT.

If being VP is her greatest accomplishment, it’s hilarious hearing the left say she actually didn’t do anything in that positions all in an attempt to say she is going to come in and do completely different things than Biden. Biden, who just a few weeks ago was an incredible President.

Now the sheep think Harris will be even better!

It’s all just hilarious kabuki played by idiots who think any of these politicians have their interests at heart.

“What’s Kamala’s greatest accomplishment?”

“She was VP you idiot.”

*5 seconds later*

“The VP has zero fucking power”

If the VP has “zero fucking power” then who does?
I don’t really understand the confusion here.
The VP presides over the Senate, and casts tie breaking votes when needed—something Kamala has done many times. Every 4 years, the VP—in their legislative capacity as president of the Senate—announced the state certifications of electors.
That’s basically it.

In regards to the border, she can meet with people. She can hear concerns, she can maybe elicit verbal agreements from countries south of the border (whether or not they follow through is another matter), and she can make policy recommendations. I suppose she can help try and negotiate deals, VPs do that sometimes. But the truth is that her power—and the power of any VP—to directly fix immigration and border issues is limited.

You ask who has the power? How about Congress for starters? This is the most do-nothing Congress in the modern era. How about the GOP stop endlessly trying to bounce their Speaker, and stop threatening government shutdowns, and do some damn work? Even when we reached across the aisle and put together an immigration bill with things both sides can agree on, those lazy fucks couldn’t be bothered to vote on it. They wanted instead to waste time impeaching Mayorkas for “doing nothing about the border” while they—the ones with power to pass laws—simultaneously did nothing about the border. Peak Republican behavior.

I think we spend too much time talking about Kamala as border czar, and not nearly enough time talking about that amazing time in our history when Trump put Jared Fucking Kushner in charge of Mideast peace. How are things going in that region of the world, I wonder?

It was basically lip service without telling everyone what an embarrassing grave mistake he made.

Not like anyone's done a thorough investigation into the 2 billion Jared was bribed with by his Saudi golfing mates

Which is my point.

She DID have power. She casted more tie breaking votes than any other VP in a single term. That alone shows her policy power. In addition to that, she held influence in an administration where the executive was less than capable as a single mind.

I heard dozens of times that it was “The Biden Administration” which is why the country was doing so great. I don’t subscribe that the Harris in the Biden-Harris administration had no role in policy.

I've read a bunch of CTer nutbags say that Barrack was still running the show.

Well, we are ready for the showdown. The polls will change over the next couple months, but it all matters about election night.

You're the one strawmanning the fact that the VP doesn't run the Executive Branch as a claim she has no power at all. I think most people can admit her tie-breaking votes were very good without pretending that she's the incumbent.

The manufactured “controversy” going after Walz’s son is a bad look for the supposed family values party.

Either you guys literally have nothing on Waltz, so why not something-something his disabled son—gross.

Or, you guys look at genuine human interactions in a loving family and don’t seem to comprehend what you are looking at—sad.

Which are you? You really believe what you saw was “abuse?”
Thats a aggressive jerk to a kid, it should be alarming but he should not bet arrested. Are you saying it's nothing ?

also where you been have not seen you post in awhile, I hope you're doing good.

He obviously was behind the scenes putting his thumb on the scale of getting Joe “I’m still running” Biden to step down along with Nancy and Chuck.
I wanted him to step down because I knew he didn't have 4 more years left in him and would likely lose. At least the Obamas didn't take an op-ed out about it a'la Clooney.

Biden is doing a bad job, and no people are saying Harris has no power to distance herself to his policies even though she said shes been the last one in the room to make choices with him lol.

Yea Dick Cheney was powerless..

But a tie breaking vote happens when a bill is voted on. If Republicans won’t bring a bill to the floor to be voted on, she has no ability to cast a tie breaking vote. It doesn’t really show her “policy power,” it’s just an ability to cast a single vote on an already-existing bill.

lol always love this kind of comment.

Only one person has power in the United States apparently. That person also happened to be a vegetable who took direction from his administration apparently. The all powerful vegetable.
That's not what I said at all.

Biden himself has about the same amount. The people around Biden have the power, not the people around Harris. And they are not the same people.

But tell me more what I said. Yeah I definitely think Biden is all powerful. That tracks....

Thanks, it's great to be back!
