It seems like to me you're desperately trying to convince yourself to hate Tim Walz because he made a joke toward his political opponent based on a current viral internet meme because it's the cool thing to do in your boyfriend's call of duty discord.

Nah I reject this, why should Democrats tolerate browbeating at the slightest hint of firing back when Trump has rejected civility politics as a matter of course and has been wholly supported by his party in doing so? At the end of the day even if Democrats use mean words and name calling there is no moral equivalence because Trump has denied the validity of the last election and even attempted a coup over those claims and in response the GOP has closed ranks to shield him from accountability for it. That is uniquely divisive and toxic for a democracy so I reject out of hand any attempt to equivocate that kind of divisive rhetoric with some campaign jabs.

Right now, the parties and movements are so far apart that it's hard to see how someone doesn't have a clear preference, but it should be possible to do fair analysis anyway. Part of that, though, is admitting where you're coming from. People who don't do that are almost always trying to smuggle in partisan bullshit.

Were they talking about how to prep an asshole for gay anal sex? If so, I concede the debate and I agree with you.

Or were they talking about how to deal with bullying and providing a safe place for LGBT kids to exist in the fuckin 90s? If so, I think you're misframing the situation to fit your agenda.

I think civility is good, but clearly unilateral disarmament hasn't really worked. What I think a lot of people have been hoping for is for decent rightists to speak out against Trump, but it's turned out that the numbers there are pretty insignificant--at least of ones who both see the problem and have the courage to speak out about it. Interestingly, a lot of Dem Congresspeople have said that their Republican colleagues tell them stuff like "if you think I'm bad, watch what would happen if I were more civil and got primaried and replaced."

Can you explain how it's "backfiring big time"? She picked a running mate who hasn't faced any real scrutiny, and in just a few weeks it turns out everything about the guy is lie, from lying about his military rank, to being in war, to exaggerating the shit out of being a volunteer assistant coach, all the way to lying about how he had his kids to claim JD Vance is against IVF, which is itself yet another lie.

Trump is now the betting favorite again, so I'm not really seeing this "backfire" you're imagining, you mean it just personally bothers you when democrats are criticized and called out for lies and creepy behavior.

Sex ed in middle school now includes graphic lessons on anal sex, oral sex, and masturbation, with stick figures to illustrate body positions. Supplemental reading in middle school libraries includes "Sex, Puberty, and All That Stuff," a book explaining foreplay and how to rub the clitoris to produce pleasure. Massachusetts' curriculum tells seventh graders how to use cling wrap as a dental dam around their teeth for safe oral sex.

Eugene, Oregon, high schoolers were recently assigned to write a sexual fantasy featuring massage oil, flavored syrup, a candle, music, feathers or a boa.
