I hope @idrankyourbeer has a speaking slot
I think that’s something both sides can agree on. Dude is a riot.

Man, I was such a Chris Benoit mark I know exactly what you mean.
I agree. I know that Clinton has personal faults, and he had political faults.
When he took office, we were in a recession, which Bush Senior had left us. I was 14 going on 15, my lower middle class parents had moved up a bit economically, and bought a new house in a nice neighborhood—and my dad got laid off. My mom was still a waitress—she’d land a much better job later in the Clinton years—but at that time, still a waitress, and we survived on her income and my dad’s unemployment benefits. Those were hard times, but by the end of Clinton’s term, the economy was booming. We were doing well, America was doing well, the budget was balanced, and we had a surplus.
I associate the 90s as the last time the US presidency was a respected positionHe's the most prolific speaker in DNC history. I dunno anybody who really dislikes him, either. The 90s were a really good time for a great many people - hopefully it was your childhood - and Bill is indelibly associated with the decade.
Bill is someone who I grew up on as a young left of center Democrat. He was JFK. He was my go-to when I had to argue Bush Jr era people about why it was so great. I've read everything I can about the man.Man, I was such a Chris Benoit mark I know exactly what you mean.

I agree. I think we all excused a lot of awful behavior on his part when he was POTUS. He’s a womanizer, probably a consummate sleazeball politican, and it’s tough to balance that knowledge with his performance as President—which had its faults for sure, I have no issue listing several—but he steered the nation right at a time we really needed that, and for that I’ll always be grateful.Bill is someone who I grew up on as a young left of center Democrat. Which is why I know he's a horrible person. I know he's a sex addict. And I know he's abused people in his life with his position. There's no denying that. We *don't* know he's a child predator, but I assume he is knowing everything I do about him. And that's what puts me in a weird position with him.

Aye. "In the name of partisanship", we shouldn't excuse bad behavior. We can acknowledge someone's strengths, while also banishing them. The nuance is hard for most humans. It's like if you endorse someone's political career, you're endorsing their lifestyle. We, as people, need to move past that binary way of thinking.I agree. Some say him following reaganomics and taking money from corporations kinda ruined the dem party.I agree. I think we all excused a lot of awful behavior on his part when he was POTUS.
