People are rightly concerned about Trump's efforts to stay in power after he lost the election. One element of that plan was to use a violent mob to try to pressure Pence into asserting that VPs have the right to unilaterally reject presidential election results. It was also pretty ugly to see a fascist mob vandalizing a symbol of our democracy and attack law-enforcement officers who were doing their jobs.

Setting aside the worst hyperbole here like the comparisons to 9/11 and Pearl Harbor its nonetheless true that the sitting president of the United States attempting to prevent the peaceful transfer of power and to overturn a free and fair election represents a very sinister milestone in American history.

We all know that, for the reactionary chuds (via power entitlement), it's not about what happened but rather who did it.
