Did Shields really get cut because he's a boring fighter?

UFC is not a sporting organization, despite their efforts to be recognized as one. Its a promotional entity. All fighters are at their disposals, regardless of their sporting achievements.

From what I understood, money and his contract was also an issue.

Wasnt this around the time when Dana "All About the Fighters" White was cutting everyone who wasn't a striker?

The ufc roster can only be so big, so many young guys who deserve a chance never know what they can do, and Shields was just kind of there being boring never gonna get any better but good enough so you had to pay him decent for every fight, so they cut him

so that's a thing? what about maia?
Maia is hot and cold (story/DHK performances where solid then he had some stinkers, then he rebounded and had good performances against nelson, brown, and magny).

Shields in the UFC was never hot (he was about as cold as it gets). Lost two straight then had 3 back to back stinkers (espeically the woodley/herman fights).

In his 8 UFC fights I don't think you could even make a minute long highlight video.......

Shake Jields is one of the greates WWs of all time, beat the current WW champ, the current MW title contender and most of the current WW top 5.
Dana couldn't deal with it and was angry because he derailed some hype trains.

You can hump & win but one can not hump & lose .

This. The UFC cut Shields, Fitch, Okami within a relatively short time and sent a pretty clear message. You can win by grappling to win decisions, but you'd better keep winning. There's much less lay and pray in the UFC than say four or five years ago. And that's a good thing. One needn't hate grappling to dislike point fighting of any kind or to recognize that purposely stalemating a fight shouldn't give a fighter the win.

Fitch got cut because his fighting style wasn't popular after a pretty awesome run in the UFC. Shields didn't really live up to the hype in the UFC and he also didn't have an exciting fighting style. I think its fair to say he was cut because he was "boring"

Combination of not pleasing to watch, not very dominant or inconsistent.

Just like Carmont, Yushin, Fitch(he got screwed over the worst imo),etc

One of the most overrated fighters of all time and also failed a drug test
