hey i took 500mg of caffeine and 325 mg of aspirin and didnt feel a difference. i suck. should i up the caffeine or just try and get more sleep?

Do you drink/eat stuff that has caffeine in it on a regular basis? If so, you may already havea bit of a tolerance for it.

I for one, notice a difference because I rarely drink or eat anything with caffeine in it.

well i have on average one soda a day. thats the majority of my caffeine(normally)

but today i had 2 red bulls.
 
1 soda a day is less than 50mg of caffeine....I drink at least 200-300 mg worth of caffeine in tea almost daily.....

2 red bulls i more like 200-300mg of caffeine...possibly 400....definitely not 500...

I would consider buying generic caffeine tablets at a drug store like walgreens/longs/rite aid/etc....fairly inexpensive....you can buy it even cheaper online....I have bottle with 200mg per tablet and i feel even 200mg.....when I take 400mg I definitely feel the difference....when I took 500mg +tea on my 700 deadlift day...I was wired.....couldnt sleep for 2 days after that....so if you indeed took 500mg and you're not 300+lb you'll definitely feel it....

did couple sets of forced closes with filed BBSM and time hold/negatives.....showed my gym buddies the gripper.....they couldnt get it to parallel....

i DID buy the caffeine pills
i checked and red bulls have 80mg of caffeine. so i had 160 in the day. i just mentioned it because that was unusual for me to drink that much caffeine in the day.
then with the pills and aspirin i really did take 500mg and 325mg of aspirin.
 
That's weird Zero. I am guessing you took more than the recommended dosage of 5mg per kg and still felt nothing? I guess you have built up a tolerance and dont respond to this dosage. I guess this is a type of supplementation that you dont respond to. Fatty accidently tried almost 1000mg and was fine but I highly wouldnt recommend it.
 
well i tried 600mg yesterday and still nothing. so i dunno?? i'll just look into something else or maybe just maybe.....sleep.
 
have u tried adding L-ephdrine or Pseudoephedrine to your stack?

L=ephdrine (in asthma medications) like 25mg or 60mg of Pseudo....i like pseudo in my stack from time to time...

However on days I plan to use the stack I stop all caffeine usage a day or so before....

yes......

pseudo ephedrine u can buy OTC at a pharmacy....you may need to show ID as its now controlled due to recent legislation....and L-ephedrine u can also buy at the pharmacy....it's in asthma medication...just make sure there's no other crap in it.....

-squat rack and shoulder press stations were taken so i decided to do z-squats from incline bench press...a bit awkward but not too bad

-rolled up a couple shirts and put them on the crooks of inside my elbows to avoid nasty bruising....still had burn marks from the lighter set...

300- didnt attempt....after pain in midsection during bench i backed off....

got a few looks doing z-squats.....i love them....it really teaches to open up the groin area ...i went down until bar rested on my quads ...paused...then ascended.....quads were feeling it....
 
Magnesium? What's this all about?

FYI - I got an email back from DNEpharm. They can't ship ephedrine to Michigan. Poop... no heart attack for me.
 
DevilsSon, I was checking out your earlier entries and see that you have experience bending nails, particularly Iron Mind. I have a few questions about their nails:
1) are they really consistent difficulty
2) are 3 nails enough for a bending session, training 2-3x a week
3) if I wanted to include it in my current program, would it be advisable to bend 5x a week either 1 or 2 or 3 nails
4) how does nail bending transfer to CoC grippers or correalate to them
*I have a super gripper so I'm not in a rush to buy the CoC, but I figure I could get them when I'm done with the bag of nails. August latest maybe sooner.

I estimate I can easily close a trainer for reps and close a #1 at least once with both hands, and with the nail bending hopefully ensure that I can do it.
 
I take magnesium mainly for cramp prevention and it relaxes the muscles a bit....maybe it's in my head but i tolerate caffeine much better with magnesium in the stack...

Just go to local pharmacy and get some asthma medication....just make sure it's standard l-ephedrine with no extra crap in it...

yes IM nails are fairly consistant. yes 2-3 challenging nails are enough per workout. I would not bend more than twice a week. Though it all depends on u. Some people prefer to bend in high volume...and frequently....Bending doesnt really carry over that much to grippers....red nail is somewhere in the neighborhood of #3 in relative difficulty.

I would order the FBBC stock to bend. Much more variety and much easier progressions. IM sucks in terms of progression. blue to red is a HUGE jump....there are literally 10 progressions in between. FBBC is great because it also gives you different kinds of stock to bend(triangular, square, bolts, grade 5/8,etc)...check out www.gripboard.com bending section
 
Thanks for the info. the last jump for IM nails from Blue to red is huge but I think levels 1-4 will provide enough challenge in the meantime. I'm gonna go with bag of nails from IM and check out other nail stock when that runs out.

I checked out gripboard and registered but the activation isn't working tried both ways. I don't know what FBCC stock is. Can you provide a link. or to the challenge bars. I'd like to compare pricing and prefer to buy online.

I tested #1 & #2 poundages on the IGDA and was able to close #1 with each hand and get #2 about one third closed with each hand. Gonna wait till I can close #2 poundages for at least 5 reps before I get the #3 CoC

Trust me man, buy a FBBC benders bag. It's cheaper, bigger and the guy who runs it is really cool. www.fatbastardbarbellco.com . Also, the recent RED nail is alot harder than last years. It tops out at about 483 compared to the FBBC bastard which is I think around 380-420. So if I was you definatly go for the FBBC. Plus more people go for FBBC so they can cert more and get more variety.
