Elections Democratic Party Approval at All Time Low

Democrats could have easily won if they simply ran Mark Kelly or Andy Beshear.

One is the a former astronaut and the other is middle of the road candidate with Kennedy level charisma and sounds intelligent when he speaks(without sounding pretentious).

I like Buttigieg but let's be honest part of the country will never vote for a gay guy no matter how smart and articulate he is.
I think Kelly was the best candidate, but it was too much of a risk at such short notice, Biden should have fucked off into retirement, hopefully Kelly stands next time, he comes across as an actual real life adult..

I'm just glad guys like this have a high approval rating, lol.

An anti abortion republican caught up with abortions is about as surprising as an anti gay republican getting caught with his boyfrand.

Nice admission that on issues that actually affect the population (the economy, social programs, healthcare) Democrats have better policies but on group identity and fringe issues that affect 0.00001% of the population, Republicans shine and it's precisely on these issues that the GOP wins on.

Also tells you all you need to know about them

What he said isn't even true anyway. Messaging counts as does shaping the narrative and democrats capitulate to republicans on that instead of shaping it themselves and that combined with the disingenuous and manipulative way they sometimes use identity politics plus a lack of any real vision or transformational change economically makes for a toxic brew.

Democrats can absolutely support trans people and immigration. They don't need to be republicans and in fact that is a proven loser of a strategy. Republicans will just vote for real republicans and the Democratic base is put off by them moving right. Everyone else will vote for someone who will materially help their life.

They do have the more popular positions on most issues. But the ones they pick as their hill to die on are deal breakers and not insignificant to the majority of the population. People don't want mentally ill men in women's bathrooms and sports. There is also the issue that when left to their own devices, liberals will attack the first and second amendments, and will try to flood the country with illegals as a means to hurt citizens. These are very significant issues.

We have never seen more fascist tendencies than we are seeing right now and guess what? The gun guys are good with it. Turns out most of the gun guys seem to support a fascist candidate. Almost like most of the gun guys are part of the problem. No?
Colluding with media to lie and silence doctors and scientists with conflicting data is about as fascist as it gets. That occurred under the Biden admin, so stuff your hysterical posts up your ass

I love how you deploy a kind of tactical retardation on me in order to pretend like you don't get what I'm saying to you or to not actually acknowledge anything I ever say to you .

I know you’re completed retarded and just can’t figure out why nobody wants to vote for the people you touch yourself to every night but try and listen to the people that don’t vote for the people you dream of inside you. Especially since you’re trying to figure out why they won’t vote for the people who’s baby you desperately want to carry.
Wow. Insightful. Almost like you're ignoring the OP and entire thread.

You can still support trans people and immigration without making it a main focal point. We don't have to talk about it every fucking day.

You need to be more populist. Focus on things a majority of people care about. Essentially bribe the public with things that will benefit them. Push healthcare, social programs, education, the economy, these types of things to the front. Talk about these things everyday.

I think it's true in the sense that Democrats lose almost entirely because of their association with icky groups like gays and trannies. It's pretty clear by now that a BIG percentage of voters aren't informed and policy-focused but rather driven by feels and vibes. And the feels and vibes of the Democrats has been brilliantly dragged through the mud by the GOP.

That's what I think the problem is. What the solution should be is another issue.

I more or less agree with you that you fix this not by turning on the LGBT but by shifting attention to healthcare, minimum wage, college tuition, and other economic issues.

Underlined: Nope, that's not what "they" pick as the hill to die on. It's what Republicans full throttle impose on them as the issues to die on.

Tremendous strategy and yeah, it's won them all 3 branches, so congrats.

But it doesn't have long-term potential. It's already breaking apart 7 months in with most experts estimating they'll lose at least the House come midterms. And of course, once Trump leaves there'll be a giant vacuum because the entire movement is based on his personal ability to rile up independents and centrists.

Republicans will always be in the mix, no matter how shit or unpopular they are, as long as liberals target the second amendment, prioritize illegals over citizens, and are soft on violent crime. These are massive issues to Americans, and rightfully so.

Back in Roman times, politicians would shower the voters with gifts and games and entertainment all in an effort to get their votes. They were basically bribing them. Elections have always been a matter of who can do the most for you as an individual.

Trans people aren't really effecting anyone. The vast majority of people don't give a shit. What they give a shit about is things that will benefit them.

Are you referring to covid? Didn't that happen when Trump was president?

You claimed that people like me always complained about fascist taking over or something like that, no? I just pointed out that the US has never been more fascist in my lifetime than right now. Our government is talking about arresting citizens and shipping them out of the country. The president threatened to arrest the mayor of LA and governor of California. The president just casually dropped gerrymandering Texas to squeeze 5 more seats out.

This ain't democracy.

America lost man, can't you see that? Trump is crushing what we knew as American. Trump voters broke the dishes.

Agreed.

Trying to bring manufacturing jobs back, drive up wages for native workers by getting rid of illegal immigrants, ridding our government/schools/business of the DEI poison and transgender ideology are all anti-American. I cannot believe anyone voted for those voter issues.

Hey there he is, the angry wanderer. Have y'all planned a visit to Alligator Alcatraz yet?

Cutting education, medicaid and environmental regulations is just icing on the cake huh?

Those issues are massive for hardcore conservatives that would never vote Democratic anyway. Elections are won by capturing swing voters, moderates, and independents.

And yeah, Republicans will always be in the mix just like Democrats will always be in the mix. Don't forget that boring, uninspiring, career politician Biden beat Trump much worse than Trump beat Harris. Trump lucked out to face a hugely uncharismatic candidate that stumbled onto her position by circumstances that will never repeat in our lifetimes.

Yeah, some vote for what's good for them and society but lots go by feels, identity, likability, etc. If everyone voted for what's good for them, Democrats would win every single election, just as XL noted.

I think the main problem here is Democrats have drifted away from focusing on these things as the main focal point. Why are we talking about trans people every day? You can support them. No problem. But we don't have to make it a main issue.
