PlayStation Death Stranding (Kojima Productions)

They didn't purge the corporate 10-bombs.

They're not interested in accuracy.
i know this is 6 years later but funny enough, the previous game had a very obvious influence on the ratings going into the sequel. DS2:OTB has a 90+ rating now on metacritic considering critics knew what to expect going in. frankly, i think the first game is superior (so far, about 50 hours into the sequel) but kojima really broke the mold with this genreless style of game.
i love necking a MULE with the bola gun then running up and soccer kicking him to sleep.
posted this on my 26th birthday apparently. god, i loved that game.

So what is it that made the game great for you? Seems to be a clash of people who dig it and other people saying you just walk a lot. What are the factors that made it appeal to you? Did you have a slow start and grow to appreciate it over time, or did it grab you early?

i think i like the grind of rebuilding the world, the immersion, and i absolutely love the story. everything feels incredibly rewarding. plus there's just so much kojima charm scattered throughout. i pre-ordered the first one and played it non-stop on launch until i beat it. same thing for this one basically.

it's not a game everyone will enjoy. you really do just walk and drive like 80% of the time. it just clicked for me immediately for some reason.

Amazing game. Couldnt care about story or fights. Just traversing the world was perfectly fine for me.

Sequel looks like Metal Gear Solid on acid and way too over the top.

Probably replay original DS sometime soon again though.

Just met the Craftsman while working for Fragile who’d gifted me my first bola gun and did a double-take, convinced I’m seeing the spitting image of Hermen Hulst.

I’m not googling anything to keep my playthrough raw so not sure if a known cameo whatnot.

I’ll never forget that one mission in Phantom Pain where we find Hideo on the floor of that type holding cell (in those raised houses by the ravine) and we put these ridiculous glasses on him for slow-mo closeup. So cheesy and great. GOAT cameo recognises GOAT cameo.

I made the mistake of getting caught up doing deliveries in the first area thinking I might eventually run out and missed out on progressing the story/upgrading gear which would have made it much easier.

I’ll take on some additional deliveries here and there going forward. Up to chapter 3.
You can miss out on story/gear doing deliveries?

I'm thinking about picking this up.

I have it on Epic, but I want the Director's cut and it's so cheap on Steam atm.

I played it a bit at launch on PS4, but returned it when EB games had the return within a week deal.

It def had the zen thing going on trekking the landscape, very tranquil. It was so gorgeous too, can only imagine how much better it looks on PC, or the PS5 upgrade.

I just recall not liking the downtime at the rest stops. It took a long time to sleep and make piss/shit bombs and such. I always planned on picking it back up down the road.

Story, I’m not sure about. Lore yes, equipment yes, but I mostly meant that because I wasn’t advancing the story, I was missing out on upgrades that would have made all my deliveries much easier.

I’m trying to find a healthy balance of both.

Ahhh thanks. You were clear enough, I just read it wrongly.

What’s the highest cg of chiral crystal dawg porters have collected in one go?

I just plucked 100 cg, which is a personal best. Found it in some wayward nook around Mountain Knot and the Roboticist’s facilities.

Before you ask, yes, I was completely lost, lol.

102 maybe? obviously a hand with like 17 fingers or something. they are unbelievably undersupplied in DS2 though. they take wayyyyy too long to replenish at mines
