Dealing With Depression

Depression isn’t a keep busy thing ,it’s highly unlikely most actually know what real depression is they think feeling down is depression which is not reality . It’s a severe chemical inbalance in the body that influences one’s behavior,if you can’t fix it it’s most likely a health issue or if one’s on certain medications that cause the effect of being depressed which is probably the worst thing you can feel if you’ve actually experienced it , most don’t really know they think it’s feeling bored or alone .

Your intimate knowledge on the subject explains many things.

And the fact that you are COMPLETELY WRONG on the chemical imbalance explains even more. Dunning-Kruger effect on display.

I think that sometimes the terms sadness and depression tends to get mixed up a bit.

Both can have serious repercussions, so they should both be taken seriously. Chemical depression is it's own beast, whilst sadness can have incredibly deep roots, leading to certain behaviours, which can be very difficult to tackle.

It may be worth takin a trip to a doctor or a therapist.

Once again your ignorance shines , still wouldn’t change anything I’ve said in here ,your as dumb as you look as well but I’m tired of picking on you so I won’t bother again posting your doofy puffy puppy dog face look you mutt . Just think, what you’d look like after you fought me your face would look like something out of a warner brother’s cartoon when a character gets severely hurt except those looks are going to stick with you awhile , I was beating up guys like you when I was 12 . Lol

You know what F it . A reminder for everyone what this dummy actually looks like that’s why he uses my pic as his avatar . Lol

the term depression is loaded and confusing I think for people at this point

but I get sad just reading local news reports about people dying, life can be harsh and the proper response sometimes is to be sad

accepting a sad existence I think is a form of defeatism and I’m more into winning but I think it’s proper to be sad when the time is right

Yes, a lot of people confuse being sad sometimes with actual depression. They're not the same thing.

This video does as good a job of getting across what depression is in a couple of minutes as any I've seen imo. I can't imagine people could watch it and then think you can solve it by just going outside (not that going outside isn't positive)

( Nutrient deficiencies are not the sole cause of depression
, but they are increasingly recognized as a significant contributing factor, as certain vitamins and minerals are essential for brain function and neurotransmitter production. Deficiencies in Vitamin D, B12, and zinc have been linked to increased risk and severity of depressive symptoms, and a balanced diet is crucial for maintaining mental health. )

A lot of factors come into play but I know the medical industry will never admit like many thing’s depression can stem from nutritional deficiencies causing an abnormal pattern in the brain ,if they did it would cost them billions ,they rely on medications .

I suffered from a rare skin disease back in the day only 6 ppl in the world had ( I’m actually in the medical books somewhere bc I was the youngest to ever have it ) I went through just about everthing at once ,later on in life I found out the root cause was actually sugar which completely wreaked havok on me , crazy that I only had to change my diet ..I went through chemo therapy to ….lol

So, is this your pathetic attempt at conceding that you were COMPLETELY WRONG? You're like a child when being told NO.

As a reminder to you, I'm still available whenever you want to confirm the date and location. The avatar is you continuing to duck me for months after all your shit talk. Come find me in the Call Out thread.

That screenshot is from a video during a 5 mile run. I was pretty whooped because getting a 40 min 5 miler at 1% incline at my age feels great! You must have spent a long time watching those videos to find the perfect moment. I'm flattered.

Anytime you're ready, I'm your Huckleberry.

Mental gymnastics to finding out you were wrong about the chemical imbalance in your brain.

Don't worry about it guys, just move on. Not worth the hassle.

Sometimes I dont know im depressed.

I realize I have a problem when im looking forward to sleeping too much. Then im like OK. Got to do somethin about that.

Sometimes you got to just look at things from a different angle, and work from that.

Care to explain the causes of depression?

This time of year where it starts getting darker earlier tends to hit a lot of people. I think age makes the human experience more susceptible to these emotions too. As one ages life tends to slow down more and more. I agree with most here advising to keep busy. Talking to someone -anyone- friends, family, also helps. Humans are naturally social creatures so you’d be surprised at how therapeutic random ass conversation can be.

There are many. But the "chemical imbalance" that Ducks Head was supporting has been proven wrong.
Without defining “chemical imbalance”, it’s difficult to opine. But if deficiencies in things like Vit D, Seretonin, dopamine, etc, cannot be catalysts to depressive states, that is news to me.

Of course other variables like genetics, and subjective factors eg “having a strong sense of purpose in life”, contribute. But I would be surprised if there weren’t in most cases, sone pretty strong correlations with physiological markers.

I've always thought that was the weirdest comparison to depression... I've had multiple black dogs and they were the happiest creatures you'll ever meet. Very little was ever able to cheer me up like those dogs... most other people seem to be cheered up by dogs too.

I would have thought picking something else would be more appropriate.

Yeah dogs are the least miserable animals in the world tbh
