Rumored DDP VS Khamzat a done deal

So basically someone from one of their camps said the fight is agreed upon a later date than IFW and they are "awaiting contracts". So it sounds like Borhallo and Imavov are out of a title fight and maybe they should fight each other

Still ill believe it when I see it. Not just signed and dated but actually occurring. I trust DDP to show up if it gets a date but Khamzat has tarnished all good will. I guess having a title on the line might change that

Come to think of it... maybe the fight is postponed for Abu Dhabi or some shit LMAO

The free good folk of the world are praying for a DDP victory, oh LORD. Deliver us!! @HI SCOTT NEWMAN

This. Along with the news of Ilia fighting for a "belt". What belt? Interim? Undisputed? What's up with Ilia and Charles both posting on their SM about sounding like they have a fight scheduled and is in camp training.

Feels like UFC is strong arming them

DDP's heart, will and fighting spirit will fight a valiant fight

At some point, Khazmat will dominate the fight and make it look easy.

I know people are Hating on Hazmat's conditioning. But he fought Usman on short notice, if he'd actually dedicated his training to preparing for a style like Usman, it would've been cardio intensive, we wouldn't have seen the same issues in energy management.

Against Burns he actually went 3 hard rounds and was still moving forward.

If this goes 5, khazmat will be prepared for it. Don't be surprised if he wins a decision. I would bet on a finish though, I don't think DDP has anything for Khazmat off his back.

If DDP does survive on the ground and does take it to deeper waters, it could get spicy for a bit, but it won't be enough this time.

That's just playing devils advocate though, I think Khazmat is gonna make it look easier than people think.

Perhaps the rumors are true and khamzat really can't fight in the US anymore

Ciao jumped the gun soo much that he started an actual media tour campaign for a fake fight and the shin break news. The UFC and Team Dricus must be pissed while Team Chimaev is baffled by all this changing narratives.

Why would Ciao be so desperate he is next in line after Imavov anyways but I believe he was thinking jump the line over Imavov by selling a fight vs Khamzat in order to get that shoot before Imavov I appreciate the gamesmanship but he did more damage then good with it and has even done Dricus dirty with the shin break news and that is why fighters need to be patient

To be honest, he tried to get Imavov to fight him first, but Imavov did not want to take him on it.

Here we go again.... I'll believe when they both weigh in and stand in the cage together, going to remain in denial until then. The universe can't allow Khamzat a title shot. He needs to perpetually prove himself.

"A done deal" used to mean it's actually ... done, and not "waiting for the contract".

In all fairness, it was Usman fighting on 9 days notice, not Khamzat.

Yes, their styles differ, but to say his cardio wasn't where it should have been due to his full camp preparation is ridiculous.
Cardio is cardio, the only acceptable excuse in my mind would be some sort of illness, or, as you mentioned, actually fighting on short notice. To say he had a full camp and just forgot to train cardio makes no sense.

To the rest of your point, it is entirely plausible he gets it done against DDP. But I can easily see DDP toughing it out and stopping a gassed Chimaev.

He did say before the whittaker fight that he had a fever vs Usman.

If it's a done deal, why did you put this thread as 'rumour'?

No, it's not ridiculous at all.

What's ridiculous is when people act like the guy who had a camp isn't also taking a fight on short notice.

Every fight is different.

If you're fighting usman, you prepare knowing that it's going to be a grind and he's going to make you work for everything.

Going from a striker to a grindy cardio machine wrestler on 9 days notice is a massive switch up and it makes no sense that such a thing would be ignored.

That benefitted Usman a lot more than it did Khazmat. I dont think he wouldve got the same openings if it was an entire camp preparing for that specific style.

There's a reason why top fighters in boxing and MMA don't like short notice fights or even outright refuse them in boxing. Maybe it doesn't seem like a big deal, but it changes things drastically, especially when you've been preparing for a particular style and character for months.

Imagine fighting a former world champion, one fight removed from the title on 9 days notice. It's a big deal. Not a lot of fighters would take that and for good reason.
