DDP already called for the fight in February. Hopefully it happens.
Chimaev's 2 most recent fights have both come after layoffs of longer than 1 year.

I think it will be less of a factor when/if he becomes a champ. He's also made good changes to his training/recovery balance, diet, etc, and was healthy leading up to this fight.Honestly I want to see Khamzat fight more consistently first. They should have done Izzy or strickland vs Khamzat next. I just don't trust this guy to consistently fight and I don't want him with the belt if that's what he's going to do.
Both in their prime wil be a banger. Whittaker is getting old and has been through a ton of wars. Khamzat and DDP haven’t taken much damage. Will be a war.
That’s why I said “hopefully”Chimaev's 2 most recent fights have both come after layoffs of longer than 1 year.
I suspect Khamzat won't be ready for February. That's less than 4 months from now. He has a history of pulling out of fights if he pushes himself too hard.
I say this because Ramadan is in March. So if Khamzat doesn't fight/train during Ramadan, then he will be out of action for all of March/April/May, meaning he won't be able to fight for the title until June or July. That's too long to make DDP wait. So we might see Strickland vs DDP in January/February unless Khamzat wants to do that.
Because Khamzat has a history of over-working himself and pulling out of fights.Whybl would it be too soon? That's more than enough to time for a camp and he got out of his fight unscathed.

But hey, if Khamzat and his team think he will be good to go in January/February, then I completely agree he should be fighting DDP next.
He's gonna get it. DDP just said he wants Khamzat next. He said Khamzat deserves it and the fans want to see it. It's gonna happen. It's going to be quite irritating if Khamzat doesn't get his title shot next. FFS they've promissed him a title shot twice already and it hasn't happened.
DDP will maul this fraudMMA is and ALWAYS has been about what have you given to me recently. Well, Khamzat made a hell of a statement against Rob. I think regardless of who you were going for, you wasn't expecting Rob to just get his jaw dislocated like that.
That fire will die down in a month or two like it always does but guys, I'm a neutral guy in general (Montreal born-bred, Living in Thailand since 2010) but man I feel like people are starting to do the same mistake that we ALL have done already which is to overlook DDP.
I have no idea who win this fight. DDP is obviously a very messy striker (I still have no clue what he's doing despite trained 10 years in Muay Thai). DDP is a very weird, unorthodox and tough puzzle to figure out. Can Khamzat really just go out there and sumbit him?
Both of them are training in Thailand often and I know that for a fact. I also know that DDP is a very large guy (not tall, not the biggest monster in the room, but obviously very tough).
I want you guys opinion. I personally rooted against DDP for the Rob fight. I also picked him against Strickland and then I learned my lesson I guess and picked him against Izzy lol.
Sorry I'm kinda high and don't want to talk too much but I guess my question is -- Is DDP really a push over for Khamzat? Or, are we again victim of the ''what have you done for me lately'' factor.
Fk RamadanHe's gonna get it. DDP just said he wants Khamzat next. He said Khamzat deserves it and the fans want to see it. It's gonna happen.
The only issue is whether or not Khamzat can fight before March. I doubt DDP will wait until June/July for Khamzat to get a full training camp after Ramadan.

And if he tries to turn around and fight in January/February against DDP, we might just see that again.Chimaev not reliable enough to fight for a title … pulls out every other fight ..
