Son of Isabelle Adjani and Daniel Day-Lewis. The 26 year old is filming a movie upcoming Western Terror on the Prairie with Gina Carano. It's his first movie he's ever done as an adult. He had a previous film when he was just a child in 2002.

My thoughts in this is that, if he even can act half as good as his father he should be a good actor at best.

And imagine getting advice from DDL about acting. That would be something special I would think.

I don't think we have seen enough to make an intelligent guess. Sure, he has every opportunity to learn from the best. But the children of acting royalty rarely turn out to be Michael Douglas.

Let's just hope he doesn't ask for any pointers from Gina Carano.

Sounds like a terrible way to start his career as an adult.

lol DDL didn't have great roles when he started. You got to start somewhere and hopefully develop and build yourself.

You have a father who's been in the business for how long and is known to be one of if not the greatest actor to ever grace the screen. I think his dad will give him all the pointers he needs. This is just a start to something bigger I would think.

He'll be fine, it's just a role to take to start his career and grow from there.

His first big role will set the tone.. His name alone will help sell tickets, so he needs to leverage that into a very good first role.

Oh I'm sure he'll get a handful of roles if he wants to continue with it. But like I said, Michael Douglas is the very rare example of someone who follows up a top tier act with one of his own.

I don't have much reason yet to think he will match, much less exceed, someone like Scott Eastwood or Scott Caan, or even Peter DeLuise for that matter.

You got a point. There is a lot of expectations I would think being the son of DDL. If he could get just a steady working job as an actor and get paid enough to pay your bills and mortgage, I guess that's good enough I would think. But I guess will just have to wait and see how this young man does.

There's always some luck and randomness involved. Alec Baldwin basically got all three of his brothers careers...the other three all took advantage and were serviceable actors, but I would say fortune also smiled on them. Frank Stallone is a decent actor but didn't get offered a ton of parts in big movies outside of Barfly and Tombstone. John Travolta and Steve Buscemi's brothers are more or less the example of a "working actor" that you are talking about. Guys who had the same kind of careers as, say, Art Lafleur or Reni Santoni or Harvey Atkin or Bill Smitrovich.

On the other hand, the brothers of Martin Sheen, Patrick Swayze, etc. They just got buried doing terrible straight to video crap that really doesn't count as a career for the most part. Just a producer figuring maybe the last name was worth it.

Do you think being the son of such a legendary actor as DDL will have more a negative influence on him or positive influence? I mean the expectations are going to be ridiculously high considering who his father is. But I just hope he just does his own thing and not think to hard of living up to someone like his dad.

I dunno... I don't think Scott Caan or Scott Eastwood have gotten or will get out of their fathers' shadows. But they still have legitimate careers. I think they've gotten farther with the name than they would have without it. That's a business where any connections or head starts are way more likely to help than hurt.

You have to really do something remarkable to make your own mark. Like I said, Michael Douglas.

Jamie Lee Curtis, Carrie Fisher, Charlie Sheen, Emilio Estevez, Melanie Griffith, Kiefer Sutherland, etc. all managed to have serious careers as stars, though only Kiefer really had the decade over decade staying power. I think he's the best candidate to have made it if starting from scratch.

Anthony Quinn's son was a very good character actor who never became a recognizable star, just reliable as hell to show up in a movie or TV show and give a good performance.

Yeah that's why I wouldn't say the odds are in the favor of this Gabriel Kane Day Lewis.

However, Kurt Russell is the son of a reliable mostly unknown character actor and he went on to become a major star.

It takes the stars lining up one way or another.

- Scott is far better looking than DDL son.
And Scott dad has done far better movies than DDL.

And Val Kilmer is a better actor than DDL!
