I used to think the Democrats in the state legislature were bluffing and that Newsom would "change their mind", but sadly... nope. Democrats are all about spending any surplus and raising taxes... no matter what.

Basically. He's playing the city against the state.

Hochul ain't gonna budge. I don't know how much he's "bluffing" though. The city was in the shit before he even got there. Now he has to find a way to get even one of his stupid policies implemented. He's gonna end up raising taxes across the board. Guaranteed.

Follow live updates on New York City politics as Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced a record $127 billion budget proposal Tuesday.

The eye-popping amount — that one insider called “insanity” — is up around $11 billion from the current year.

The socialist city leader’s plan includes a whopping 9.5% proposed property tax hike on New Yorkers, which he claims would be a “last resort” — while allocating another $1.2 billion for migrants.

Mamdani, 34, unveiled his preliminary budget from the Blue Room at NYC City Hall this afternoon.

 
He announced today that he’s planning to dip into the emergency funds and raising property taxes if homchul doesn’t allow him to tax millionaires and corporations.

This is what he said when he was confronted with his past anti-police tweets including one tweet where he mocked a police officer that was crying in his patrol car.



“The tweet that you refer to is a tweet that is out of step with the way in which I not only view police officers, the immense work that they do in this city but also the seriousness with which we need to treat that work.”

She won't budge... lol. She said before he was elected she wouldn't raise taxes. She's already seen billions leave the state under Cuomo and herself.



Mamdani waved it off during the campaign and said he'd find the money. And the plebians fell for it.



She'll let Mamdani hang himself... I don't think she endorsed him willingly. If Mamdani's support crumbles... she'll be like

The Dems don't like him. They know how horrible his policies are. The only ones that really got behind him are the retards like Warren and AOC. Even that cheap Obama-bot Hakeem Jeffries knew better than to push him too hard.
