DC Universe: Rebirth Special #1

Also how am I being a useless source of information when all I have posted was useful information.

You being fooled at DC making it a point to not turn off more readers by saying "reboot" for a 3rd time in 4 years when in fact it's a reboot.

I'm not a comic reader, but didn't they reboot like 2 years ago?

Yes and they fucked up. Sales dropped. This is a reboot to explain the other reboot. They have better minds on this one but it's still very confusing

For instance Wally West is back but this time he's black. I might be mistaken and if I am someone correct me.

2 wally wests. Distant cousins type shit. It's explained in the super sized first issue. The white wally west is watching the black wally west from the time stream

DC will also combine the Watchmen universe into the main DC universe.

Stupid IMO

I think it's ok. I mean I will hold total judgement until the end story line. But Dr Manhattan is the reason there is 10 yrs missing and he fucked with all the super heroes.

Anybody bought this comic book? What can you say about it?

What I wrote in another thread:

Welp, I just read DC Universe Rebirth and am unimpressed.

Joker...

There's three of them now. Am I supposed to care? I feel a minor curiosity at finding out how they explain it, but it's no different than me picking up a book at a book store and reading the back cover: "There's a murderous animal on the loose in Bedrock Cove and as Nick Talos frantically tries to protect everyone... he makes a horrifying discovery that will twist everything man knows about nature." Sure, I'm mildly curious, but I'm also not that interested in something that's probably more interesting to read about than actually read.

Kid Flash...

I'm getting tired of Flashes running desperately through time. They need a new all-purpose plot device.

Making Wally West black...

How lazy can you get? Fine, you want to make the character black. There are more interesting ways than having white Wally West explain, "My black cousin is also named Wally West because we're named after my grandfather and he was also struck by lightning that gave him super speed and he's going to be a great Flash."

The kicker of an ending...

Combining the Watchmen universe with the DC universe? What a piece of shit move. They've already got so many other comic "universes" (from Milestone to The Question universe to Blue Ribbon and probably several others) that they're not using... they literally are just going for shock value here. Marvel already did it with Angela, a character that wasn't theirs, so it's less shocking that DC would incorporate a universe they own. The real shock is going to be outrage from the fans because there is no value to the medium as an artform in doing this.

Also Batman turns around and dramatically finds Rorshach's button in the wall of the Batcave? Does't sound convenient at all.

Strangely, it was the way they made Wally West black that had me facepalming and not the shock ending, even though I think the shock ending is the dumb decision.

Even now, a week later, it's the way they made Wally West black that sticks in my head. In pro-wrestling you have to have an old wrestler put over a new wrestler because... well, that's really the most powerful technique pro wrestlers have at their disposal. When you command a medium like comic books, with the vast cababilities to convey... anything... I really feel like you should do something much more creative than the same technique used by a local wrestling show in a church basement.

No, No its not

Now go continue being a useless source of information

Saying it's not a reboot is like rob zombie saying devils rejects isn't a sequel.

We all know what it is but the creator doesn't want that moniker attached to it

Wait how do you know that.

And is DC gonna have an earth based hero that's even more powerful than superman in Dr Manhattan

I forget where I read this. It was on a comic website.

At the end of the justice League 50 owl man tells the chair to tell him everything and says he's here and then splatters like rorschach.

In rebirth there is a mysterious lady who explodes like rorshach.

I'm not sure about the other characters from watchmen but if you think about it who else is powerful enough to fuck with the time stream. I'm not sure why he would do this.

Not sure on your last question but Dr Manhattan is going to be hard to beat. That end probably won't happen for awhile either

Is the mysterious lady Pandora or something. Wasn't she supposed to play a role in the New 52.

Maybe someone like Prod or perhaps you could explain her role to me since I haven't read much DC since the new 52 started.

I miss the old DC. I liked the Identity Crisis DC universe

This has more info on rebirth and talks of Dr manhattan towards the end

Also very confused on the 3 superman's shit. It's off putting to say the least

Ok I'll read all that thanks.

And this is def a reboot. It's all semantics here. Marketing 101.

Instead of turning people off with another reboot DC is just changing the name to Rebirth. Kills two birds with one stone.

1) allows DC not to use reboot again

2) also piggybacks on their successful REBIRTH franchises. Flash and green lantern

Youre right I think it is Pandora and she does die.

I'm not to involved in the new 52. Collected a few things but wasnt a big fan. So I'm almost as lost as you.

I agree, I prefer the old way. They need to stop fucking with time and multiple universes. Have one set of heroes. It's all to confusing.
