Nature & Animals Physicists now predicts the universe will end in a Reverse Big Bang and cycle back to where it begun

What I love about this besides being right is that they got everything wrong.

That is so awesome given that it's 2025.

I wrote a paper years ago on why the universe is self contained and that there will be a paradigm shift in thinking from the big freeze/eternal expansion to cyclic universe.

Well now they arent so cocky anymore that the universe will expand forever and I can actually put this forward without being banned from the physics forum... :)

What this means for the universe (AI summary)

"End to eternal expansion: This new evidence challenges the "Big Freeze" theory, which predicted the universe would expand forever.

Cyclical universe: A Big Crunch could potentially lead to a cyclical model where the universe expands, collapses, and then undergoes a new Big Bang, although more research is needed to confirm this possibility.

Thank you come again!
Hasn't that always been the theory? equal and opposite reaction and all that. The universe's expansion has to be displacing something......

Physicists believed based on the current knowledge/traces that the universe would expand indefinitely and be in a future eternal, inhabitual state of near "nothingness"

It was not based on the theory of Relativity or QM but traces from the Big Bang.

But as Einstein said: if the facts dont fit the theory, change the facts.

As long as we don't have to come back, it's all good either way.

Penrose thinks each Big Bang is a unique history. Godel who I linked to thinks it's an infinite loop.

While Penrose is a powerhouse mathematician, Godel was spoken about with great veneration. People who were viewed as geniuses thought of him as otherwordly bright.

Von Neumann wrote that Godel's two early papers were "worth more than the total literary output, past, present and future, of most mathematicians".

First this is easily beyond my understanding, education, and knowledge. But in my opinion these are fantasy theories that eat up time and grant money, ultimately leading to nothing. To know the beginning and the end would be "great" but ultimately useless. Again just my opinion, but the universe as a whole, and existence as we know it operate on such different levels of time, and space that we cannot begin to conceptualize the big picture.
I'm just winging this and my terminology and knowledge is going to be wrong, outdated or just made up. The big bang was caused by matter condensing until it exploded and burst forth spreading across space leaving behind cascading layers of matter that have coalesced into galaxies and solar systems over eons. It is supposedly still expanding, meaning it has not expended all of it's energy, there would need to be more matter and fuel. But what is the space it is spreading across? Where did the matter come from and why was it contracting/condensing? What is it transforming to fuel the expansion?
Answering the origin of existence is like proving or disproving God's existence definitively. Figure it out and you may just wake up to find a black obelisk. Also funny I just watched zero theorem last week

It didn't come from anywhere if the universe is eternal.

Self-contained means that something has all the necessary components within itself and does not need outside help to function.

indemonstrable theory is indemonstrable.
Universe ends in cheese then is reborn. I can't prove it but numbers or something

One day idiots will realise it's Gods will.
