DC in your all time rankings ?

After beating an elderly MW(hendo) and literally a barista (Cummins) he got a shot at Jones and well was outclassed.
He only has a mere 20 or so wins in his entire career. And the 6-8 of those against guys no one has heard of.
Was never the best LHW for any extended period (behind bones always) or HW (behind Stipe) or even fighter in his own camp (Khabib and Cain at hw).
Never won gold at Olympics
Is second fiddle to Rogan at play by play and being a company

Heh, he is not anywhere my top HW/LHW.
Mostly because he started far too old, and as you noted, never really became the top of his own division.

But come on now... being play by play has nothing to do with being top fighter.
And IMHO being the captain of the Olympic team IMHO >>> than winning the gold himself.

He defended the title 3 times though and if it wasn’t for Jones he would’ve an really impressive reign. And even if don’t rank him high at LHW, he’s still top10 p4p
 
Yes. The 2nd best LHW of all time and in the top 5 of heavyweights. I think if he stayed at Heavyweight in his prime he would be the GOAT of the division outside of Fedor.

Hard to say when you compare him to people in other weight classes where he would rank.

definetly in my top 10 "out of shape" fighter rankings
 
You won't get an argument from most fans if you said DC had the potential to beat anybody at LHW/HW. However I don't know how anybody could logically rank him higher than Stipe or Jon Jones for example or any champion who consistently fought and defended.

It's kinda a shame DC only went back up to HW once he was 40 years old with a bad back and being nastily overweight. Thanks Cain

It just illustrates that he was never the best of anything, any Division or any competition or any camp or commentary team for that matter. What’s actually laughing your ass off worth: many people cheer second bests and somehow put them in their at all time number one lists:)
 
He's a legit hall of famer. Top ten all time.
 
#2 LHW for sure. He doesn't have a whole lot of fights at HW so hard to rank there.

9 UFC LHW, 6 UFC HW with 3 of those being Stipe. I mean, he's always had the skills but having half his career in two different divisions makes him hard to rank. For me it's easy to put him at LHW #2 because there hasn't been anybody else before him that I think he'd lose to besides Jones.
