Dave Bautista is such an awful actor

Wrestlers should be great actors, and vice versa, but for whatever reason nobody can take the other side seriously when they attempt to cross over and do the other. The Rock is the worst actor going today and I have no doubts that even lousy Bautista could surpass his acting ability but I can't buy either one of them as leading men.
 
The only good wrestler-turned-actor was Piper, surprised he didn't get more work.

I reckon Jake Roberts could have been a great villain had he ever tried it
 
He's out of place in serious roles, just on his stature alone. I don't think he's terrible, but he's just hard for me to buy as a serious actor, and as mentioned, he sounds like he's reading off a card.

But he plays a big dumb guy really well and can be pretty funny in the right roles.

Cena was fucking hilarious in Vacation Friends. I don't care what anyone says. That movie surprised the hell out of me.
 
If they ever do Of Mice and Men again, I think he would have the right mix of vulnerability and stature.

Cena is actually really good in Peacemaker.


I think the key with Cena, Dave, and Dwayne is that with good writers they can do comedy. Dave is perfect in the GotG movies.

Drama maybe not so much.

Dwayne might have the body of a juiced superhero but he was most entertaining doing comedy roles like Be Cool.
