I with you for the most part, but, while asking for valid ID in and of itself is not racist, I'm confident the right did this to suppress the black vote. Even then, I don't know if its racist as much as strategic profiling.

I think I remember a statistic from a thread a ways back that confirmed this.
Low income households with people without cars don't have drivers licenses. That doesn't mean they shouldn't/couldn't have some kind of State ID but I do believe this was confirmed. And they're relatively expensive. I think they cost about 15 to 20 bucks. Thats a lot of money for a poor family.

It really is. Politics is important, but being a decent human being is more important, and putting garbage like that into the heads of impressionable kids is low.
