I mean, I get that you like one a lot more than the other… but Jones really does not have the body type for HW and Cormier already was a HW to begin with.

There’s lots to criticize Jones for but I’m not really into criticizing guys for not going up in weight. I wouldn’t do it for Khabib or Usman (and I criticize Usman for a lot) and I don’t think you would either.

It is great when guys go up in weight, I love it and appreciate it. I gained a lot of respect for Izzy for challenging himself like that. But I don’t criticize guys for not doing it, personally.

Current Jones would lose to either of the big men in a title fight IMO.

The juiced 223lb Jones that stepped into the cage to fight DC in their first fight would beat the fucking dogshit out of Gane or Ngannou. I don't think it would even be close. I think he would wrestle fuck either of those big boys into a living death. His Cardio would just fucking wreck either of them. That was the best MMA fighter to ever step in the ring. In a HW fight, I think he would have been in the 230lb range at that time if he was in peak condition. That's plenty big enough.

To be honest, I think Cormier is being humble here because in his prime I’d give him a very good chance against Ngannou. I think he could very possibly beat him like Stipe did in the first fight. Ngannou has a puncher’s chance against a prime DC and nothing more imo.
